The purpose of OPSYS Security Screening component (OSC) is to provide a reliable and transparent interface for OPSYS components for calling Enterprise Security Screening component (ESS). The OSC will call ESS in several modes: Security Screening, Fraud, Commodity Verification, Known/Uknown Shipper Check.The ESS will determine what type of security screening is required when called in Security Screening mode. The ESS will determine if shipment is a Fraud shipment when called in Fraud mode. The ESS will perform Commodity check when called in Commodity Verification mode. The ESS will determine if shipper is a Known or Unknown shipper. The OSC will provide both integration functionality and security screening results incorporation as required in OPSYS. The OSC will become a standard Security Screening Interface for all OPSYS components (both Legacy and Modernization) written in Cobol or Java. Not every call to OSC will result in subsequent call to ESS, in which cases screening processing will be limited to OSC only.

It has various modules like Lead Manager, Application Manager, Verification Manager, Document Manager, and Under Writing Manager, offering Manager, Print Letter Manager, Reallocation Manager, Duplicate Manager, Decline Manager, Smart Summary, and UCF Manager. So an application has to pass through different stages (Managers) before being approved.
