CORD, Cisco SystemsMay 2012 - December 2012

Senior Developer

Country of origin (“CO”) designates the country of manufacture or production of any item. For products that are manufactured in multiple countries, the country of origin is the place in which the product was last "substantially transformed."   CORD is a Cisco tool that determines a probable country of origin by identifying the point of last substantial transformation based on manufacturing information entered by the product owner.  The data is then systematically assigned a CORD Rule which is sent to the Auto test (AT) system to automatically assign Country of Origin at “pack out”. Auto test is a Cisco proprietary testing system used to monitor quality and production status and evaluates test records to verify support for the point of last substantial transformation determined by CORD.  The CORD tool also supports the TAA tool by allowing the TAA Flag Yes to be flipped when the probable CO is TAA compliant.
