Hands-on day-to-day leader, architect, designer, and developer of the commercially available realMethods

Application Generator and Framework.

“Hands-on” means “hands-on keyboard” with respect to all software related efforts, from code design and

development, project definition and SDLC execution and oversight, to website content. “Day-to-day” means

working closely with technical internal staff, sales/marketing staff, internal and client C-Level executives, and

anybody else who may need guidance, status, business/technical direction or leadership.

Built and manage a successful and adaptive geographically dispersed software culture of 25+ smart professionals to

allow design, development, and documentation efforts to take place autonomously in disparate parts of the world.

Designed and coded a portal search solution migrating content and methods from the Google Search appliance to a

cluster of Apache Solr instances. Solution was deployed to Apache Tomcat using Spring as the MVC framework.

Developed a web services API for the sake of integration into an existing WebSphere Portal deployment, running

on WebSphere App Server.

Joined an existing team that leveraged Agile for development and Jenkins for continuous integration.

All work was executed remotely using VMWare, with the code housed on GitHub and connectivity to a remote

Jenkin’s installation.

Newlane Partners - Chief Architect/Developer (Remote)

Company face for all matters technical. Includes dialog with investors, M&A personnel, acquisition prospects, and

client Sr. Management.

Team lead for architecture, design, and development oversight of Newlane’s sole software product, Eureka!, a

search application provisioning platform acting as a Platform as a Service in the Amazon Cloud.

Platform is based off of realMethods App Generator and Framework and is used to generate search applications

that can target Apache Solr/Lucense, Google Custom Search, Google Search Appliance, ElasticSearch, Amazon

CloudSearch, AWS Elastic MapReduce (Hadoop using Hive/Pig), NoSQL(Redis), and any RDBMS.

Deployed the application as a PaaS n the AWS Cloud marketplace as a for cost reproducible image containing an

EC2 Linux instance, Apache Solr, Apache Tomcat, and connectors to Amazon CloudSearch.

Provide clients with search architecture leadership and guidance with respect to platform decisions, Big Data

analysis, data/document migration strategies, and implementation oversight.

Instrumental in setting up and staffing the office of Enterprise Architecture. This included defining the tenants,

goals, and communication mechanisms for outbound architecture influence and inbound architecture assessment.

Managed a staff of 7 Solution Architects tasked with ensuring all LOB architectures were in line with the goals and

objectives of the Enterprise Architecture. Responsibility spanned across application, infrastructure, security, and

information architectures. This included architecture and development oversight of major central corporate systems

such as IBM DataPower, Oracle Siebel CRM, and MS Sharepoint.
