Worked with an internet base company to design new generation big data systems for data science / predictive data analytics / enterprise reporting of 3 different business lines (multiple products). Design solution of multiple data warehouses with good understanding of parallel and cluster architectures. Managed the BI product lifecycle using Business Objects (BO)

·   Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applications Data Foundation (OFSAA-DF) has been purchased by one of the largest Pension Fund. This has 1700+ entities and 40K+ attributes. Created custom data model modifications, Data Mappings, Data Lineage, map to existing applications etc.

·   Data science platform. Being built on multi petabyte federated/distributed data farm (Petabytes of raw data, billions of rows) using commodity servers with thousands of CPU cores, on open source database software (Cassandra, Posgressql + Hadoop/Hbase/Hive/HDFS Integration). This high-performance high-throughput big data platform will address challenges of processing, aggregating and reporting 10s of billions of data points per day.

·   Working strategic and tactical aspects of large Multi-Terabyte Basel 2 to Basel 3 migration including migrating Oracle 10G database to 11G and integrating data from MsSql & Sybase databases. Creation of data model by logical grouping of data elements into subject areas, creation of data models for instrument / account / counterparty etc.

Created consolidated overloaded fact tables thereby reduced them from 12 to 2

·   Manage and guide a distributed team of data and database architects / engineers to fulfill the diverse requirements of our internal clients.

·   Design and implements complex Relational data architectures - conceptual, logical and physical while staying within the framework of our Enterprise data model.

·   Design of dimensional models: Used star schema with fact/dimensions, used denormalization, SCD's temporalization, DD-adding, metadata, ODS etc.

Selected Accomplishments / Projects

1) Re-engineering of a 4-node 128 CPU/80 TB Oracle RAC customer data warehouse to 120TB/ 16 Node Teradata 5600 platform with database v13. Additional data from a recent acquisition is being integrated.

This warehouse is used for Operational Risk management / Fraud Detection / AML / Compliance / Discovery etc.

·               Worked on target architecture design and steps to achieve the target architecture

2) Large near real time data warehouse for traders to check their positions /transactions /calculate risk /analyze assets; position NAV etc.

Presentation/application layer is in Java which allows roll up/drill down.

Design Sybase replication processes to keep the critical client data available in near real time manner. Create dimensional virtual access layer through use of complex views.

Historical data is loaded to several Sybase IQ db's with a total size of ~6TB.

3) Datacenter transformation/consolidation with very limited applications downtime from vendor data center inclusive of asset and employee addition.
