1.      DBA and ETL developer : TCS Digital Enterprise, Analytics and Information Management (November 2011-Present)

 

     Description: Manage MySQL, Hive, Hbase database administration assignments for diverse industry clients. Enhanced database performance, performed restores, implemented recovery procedures, handled performance tuning and conducted regular system backups. Ensured technical and functional designs met business requirements. Developed Hadoop /Java programs according to the data size for business analytics.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

 

1.       Database Administrator: Worked on the continuous support of the project based database issues. Performance Tuning, Indexing were also done for the same.

2.       Informatica Developer : Developed and customized Informatica jobs based on business requirements.

3.       BI tool analyst: Analyzed various BI tools including Pentaho, Tableau, Talend, Intellicus, Jaspersoft,

 

Additional Works:

 

1.       Designed database structure and developed etl jobs using Pentaho to find the churn rate of a telecommunication company. Implemented k-means algorithm using Map-Reduce to find the churn rate. The pattern was shown as Pentaho report designer. Also Statistical analytics was done to reduce the churn rate, of which the implementation was done in Hadoop.

2.       Have worked for the complete automation of a project of an Insurance company which was to redirect the server usage from the production server to the back up server in case of outage/ manual maintenance shut downs. The scripts were written using cron-jobs and linux shell scripting.

3.       Maintained and customized java project built on Spring framework which was to read inputs from different devices’ sensors and insert and retrieve from an hbase table.

4.       Analyzed requirements of Market Research Company and developed ETL jobs using Informatica to cleanse their raw data.

5.       Analysis of various open source BI tools and advising various technical groups on the best practices on reporting.

6.       Vehicle predictions of damage with several algorithms.

 

 

2. Project Title: Business Intelligence and Process Management (Training)

 

   Description - Data warehousing concepts, OLTP, OLAP, Normalization, Star and Snow Flake data models. Worked on developing Informatica jobs after analyzing the business requirements. Worked on reporting using Business Objects for different use cases.

 

3. Project Title : VAS Engineer

    Company : Nokia Siemens Networks

 

   Description - Provided Tier1 and Tier2 support for a telecom company in Italy. Also designed Oracle database structure based on their business requirements.
