Develop custom Extraction, Transformation, and Load (ETL) scripts using Pentaho Data Integration tool to load Sales related information from external sources into a Star Schema (Kimball). Used Pentaho Business Analytics to access, visualize and explore data within an enterprise-reporting dashboards. Created Scorecard system to track LOB strategy targets. External source data was provided by web services from Apple iTunes, Barnes and Noble, and Amazon.  Environment included Oracle 11g, PLSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Pentaho Data Integration, Pentaho Business Analytics, HTML 5 and JavaScript for custom reporting.

 

Extranet Portal (Custom Development) – CMS.gov (Jan 2011 - Nov 2012)

Lead portal architecture team (2 Portal, 1 SOA, 1 Data Modeler, & 1 UI) (Budget: 1.2 M) to define and design a composite portal for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The composite portal integrates multiple lines of business into single point of interaction, each LOB comprised of 20 to 35 thousand users. Designed multiple portlets, Data API (REST), and Services. System was designed with Oracle technologies. Used Pentaho Kettle for incremental loading of data. SOA services where designed for interoperability and reuse between the application tier and data tier. The presentation tier: WebCenter 11g, Clustered. The application tier: WebLogic 11g, Cluster - provider of JSR-168/286 portlets, ADF, Discoverer, OBIEE, Oracle Service Bus. The data tier: Oracle Databases. Real-World Training Scenario with Laser Engagement System (Custom Development) – (Sep – Dec 2010)

Designed and developed an entity-relationship model and RESTful API used to collect, in real time, RFID location from individual soldiers to track movement and placement within the real-world scenarios. System would collect soldier positioning every second as well as location camera positioning as it relates to each individual soldier. Presentaiton Tier: Liferay, JSR286, Hibernate. Application Tier: RabbitMQ, BeanStalk, Groovy. Data Tier: Oracle.

 

Healthcare Portal and Extranet (Custom Development) – www.usoncology.com (Jan 2010 - Sep 2010)

Designed and developed Intranet web portal giving access to a diverse set of content and COTS applications. Additionally the Portal interfaced with multiple web application including Oracle Application and other custom developed applications and API's. System design included service calls to custom application. The presentation tier: Apache, WebCenter, Custom CMS; The application tier: WebLogic Server, Cluster, Portlet Producer (JSR-168), Data Tier: Oracle & SQL Server Database. Longitudinal Data System Architect (Department of Education Massachusetts) – (Jun 2009 - Dec 2009)

Designed an XML (SIF: Schools Interoperability Framework) enabled Longitudinal data system which included an operational data store (ODS), District Reporting, Service Agents, Business Rule Engine, Quality Analysis Data Viewer, Quality Analysis Bot, Notification System|Bot, District Vertical Reported, ETL load to state level data warehouse. The Data store contained an active staging and production environments as well as a migration path from current system to SIF enabled systems. The Environment included MSSQL, Oracle based technologies, Informatica and SIF Specification 1.5r1, 2.0r1, and 2.1 – which fit the served districts technology base. SIF Data Model Architect (CLEO UK) – (Feb 2009 - May 2009)

Designed a SIF (School Interoperability Framework) enabled Operational Data Store (ODS) to support new government reporting needs to include a Business Rule Engine, Parent Reporting Portal, and data warehouse reporting. The Data store contained an active staging and production environments. Presentation Tier: Apache, PHP. Data Tier: MySQL. Specifications Used: UK School SIF Specification 1.2.

 

Healthcare ETL (Custom Development) – Bunch & Associates. (Jul 2008 - Dec 2008)

Redesigned custom Extraction, Transformation, and Load scripts (ETL).  System was used to create a bi-directional path between two custom system and a COTS packages used for claims automation. Data Tier: Oracle 10g & 9i databases, Pentaho, and Pl/SQL (Packages, Triggers, and Tables).

 

Oil & Gas Corporate Portal and Extranet (Custom Development) – HighMount EP. (Nov 2007 - Jul 2008

Designed and developed Intranet web portal to hold a diverse set of content (exploration/real estate) and application. Portal Interfaced with GIS and Oil/Gas related application to provide real-time views into remote hardware and performance. Additionally the Portal interfaced with multiple COTS application including Oracle Application and other custom developed applications.  Presentation/Application Tier: Oracle Application Server 10g, Oracle Portal, Discoverer 10g, PL/SQL, Java (JSR-168), DHTML, JavaScript, AJAX, Prototype, XHTML, CSS, & Oracle Internet Directory (OID). Corporate Portal Prototype (Custom Development) – Vertex. (Oct 2007)

Lead small team to design and developed Oracle Portal and Liferay proof of concept; tasked with showing strengths and weakness of the two environments as well as the interoperability of web centric applications. Documented design guidelines that all POC would follow. Oracle Prototype included Oracle AS 10g, Oracle Portal, PL/SQL, Java Portlets JSR168 & Oracle Internet Directory (OID). Liferay prototype included Liferay, Java Portlets JSR-168, & Active Directory. Both environments included: HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, CSS.

 

Corporate Portal Prototype (Custom Development) – Walsworth. (Jan – Sep 2007)

Design and developed portal web application to include an Oracle ID member tool which aloud external account holders to create, update, delete sub accounts within Oracle Internet Directory (OID).  Co-Managed Walsworth personnel and assisted in timeline development. Environment included Oracle AS 10g, Oracle Portal, PL/SQL & Java Portlets (JSR168), DHTML, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, & OID.

Corporate Dashboard/Project Management Portal (Custom Development) – CELGENE. (Jan 2006  - Jun 2006)

Design and documented Project Management Portal allowing project team members to programmatically update status reports for senior management. Development team included offshore resources on-site developers, and off-site designer.  Environment included Oracle AS 10g, Oracle Portal, PL/SQL, Java WSRP, DHTML, JavaScript, CSS, & Oracle Internet Directory (OID).

 

Peer-to-peer Communication (Custom Development) – RESTAT, LLC. ( Apr 2005 – Nov 2005)

Internet Portal (Re-development) – ThyssenKrupp Elevator. (Jan 2005 – Mar 2005)

Redesign enterprise intranet to facilitate communication between content owners and audience. Intranet functionality will include over 150,000 document elements, 42 custom applications, and handle future additions. Managed small team. Designed and developed Executive Sales Portal to track sales and inventory related KPI’s. System allows delivery of instant and consistent information to all levels securely. Created task flow diagrams and high fidelity prototypes, used to test design concepts. Environment included Oracle AS 10g, Oracle Portal, PL/SQL, DHTML, JavaScript, CSS, & Oracle Internet Directory (OID).

 

Data Warehouse (Valspar)  (Feb 2003 – Dec 2003)

Developed ETL scripts, transferring data from corporate and non-corporate (LOWES) sources to an internal data store. Data Warehouse tracks three distinct business areas using Ralph Kimball Star Schemas to represent data relationships. Environment included Oracle 9i Database, and PLSQL.

 

Internet Portal (Re-development) – Government – IBM consulting. (Sep 2002 – Jan 2003)

Managed team of developers to restructure and transform portal, allowing better communication of educational related data. System has allowed economical delivery of consistent information throughout statewide organization. User base consisted of 1500 concurrent users. Source data: Multiply internal systems and State Data Warehouse. The development environment included Oracle 9i, Oracle 9iAS (rel2), Oracle Portal, PL/SQL, Discoverer Viewer/Plus, CSS.

 

Internet Portal (Custom Development) – Healthcare – WellCare, Inc. (Jan 2002 – Aug 2002)

Developed portal to communicate marketing message to customer membership and presented web enabled application to external business partners. The system delivers proprietary information to third parties and government organization. The development environment included Oracle 9i, Oracle 9iAS (rel2), Oracle Portal, PL/SQL, CSS.

 

Intranet/Extranet Portal (Custom Development) – Restaurant – Outback Steakhouse (2001)

Lead team of Oracle developers in the design and development of corporate reporting system to facilitate communications with internal/external business partners. System allows economical delivery of consistent information throughout the organization while centralizing the development and deployment. User base consisted of 600 concurrent users across the continental United States. Source data: Operational Data Stores, Lawson and Custom application. The environment included Oracle 9i, Oracle 9iAS (rel1), Oracle Portal, PL/SQL, OC4J, JSP, XML, CSS.

System Migration (ETT Development - Reporting) Financial/Banking Industry

Migrated legacy-banking system to include the recovery of lost business rules.  Business Rules where then evaluate with customer to determine if appropriate for new system.  Effort consisted of two-legacy system which where extracted and transformed then migrated to Oracle Application 11i.  System was delivered in London, New York, Japan and Honk Kong. The development environment included Oracle 8i, Discoverer 4i, 9iAS (rel1), PL/SQL, Microsoft Access, and Proprietary systems.

 

Custom Data Warehouse (ETT Development) – Insurance Industry

Developed and installed custom Data Analysis forms and reports. This effort consisted of the following process areas: Stage One, Stage Two, and DW Production. The development environment included Oracle Portal, Informatica, Discoverer, Developer 6.0 (Forms and Reports), PL/SQL and HP workstations.

 

Utility Data Mart (Custom Development Prototype) – Utility Industry

Developed decision support prototype architecture for analysis of operational measurements from internal and external data sources. System was used to support management’s tracking of internal and external business efforts as well as test business analysis. Activities involved modeling/developing of Business Areas, functional/logical hierarchy, creation of schema, and the generation, extraction, transformation and translation of data. The development environment included Windows NT, Oracle 8.0.4, SQL Loader, PL/SQL, Perl, and Discoverer 3.x.

 

Discoverer Implementation (Custom Development and Mentoring) – Consumer Industry.

Developed decision support architecture for analysis of operational measurements, aggregates, and ratios. This system is used to support management’s tracking of internal and external business efforts as well as ad-hoc reporting. Activities involved modeling/developing of Business Areas, functional/logical hierarchy, Q/A of generated reports, creation of views, generation and post-generation enhancements of modules. Developed and installed custom ABC Analysis reports. This effort consisted of the following process areas: INV, GL and corporate data. The development environment included Sun Solaris 2.5.1, HP workstations, Windows 95, Developer/2000, and Oracle Server 7.3.3.6.

Developed decision support system for analysis of operational measurements, aggregates, and ratios. This system is used to support management’s tracking of internal and external customer service efforts. The reports addressed GAP requirements: Legal entity, multi-currency, multi-org, as well as Geographic distributions. The development environment included Sun Solaris 2.6, HP workstations, Windows 95, Developer/2000, and Oracle Server 8.0.4.

Developed and established an extranet application, which assists in remote collection of State demographic information. XML Enabled Operational Data Store (ODS)

Design and Developed an XML capable operational data stores (ODS) for the general purpose of integrating data from disparate source systems in a single structure. This ODS was designed to contain low level or atomic data with limited history and is captured “real time”. Developed for the K12 using either the SIF [Schools interoperability Framework] data objects or Ed-Fi [Michael & Susan Dell Foundation]. The ODS was Web enabled via a RESTful API Service as well as an Agent technology. Environment: Grails, Groovy, RESTLet, Pentaho PDI, Informatica, MySQL, XML, and  XSLT.

 

Zone Integration Server (Open Source Development) – www.openzis.org

Improved the capability of an Open Source Zone Integration Server which now has the additional capability of handling application messaging within the US 2.3, US 2.2 and UK 1.1 SIF (School Interoperability Framework) specification. This Server is able to use MySQL, Postgres, MSSQL, and Oracle DB as its database backend. Testing used RUBY and Edustructures ADK. Environment included PHP5, Zone Framework, MySQL, Postgres, MSSQL, Oracle, JavaScript, EXT JS, AJAX, and Prototype.

External/Internal Portal (Custom Development) – SFWMD [www.sfwmd.gov]

The above examples where produced for South Florida Water Management District using Oracle Portal, PLSQL, Email/SMS messaging, Ajax, and SVG graphics. The application allowed the district to capture relevant information from remote sites across south florida and present the information to the governors emergency readiness cabinet. The system tracks all storms, which threaten to affect Florida. I produced requirements, create WBS, designed/architected the system to include look and feel and developed the system.
