Extranet Portal (Custom Development) – CMS.gov (Jan 2011 - Nov 2012)

Lead portal architecture team (2 Portal, 1 SOA, 1 Data Modeler, & 1 UI) (Budget: 1.2 M) to define and design a composite portal for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The composite portal integrates multiple lines of business into single point of interaction, each LOB comprised of 20 to 35 thousand users. Designed multiple portlets, Data API (REST), and Services. System was designed with Oracle technologies. Used Pentaho Kettle for incremental loading of data. SOA services where designed for interoperability and reuse between the application tier and data tier. The presentation tier: WebCenter 11g, Clustered. Real-World Training Scenario with Laser Engagement System (Custom Development) – (Sep – Dec 2010)

Designed and developed an entity-relationship model and RESTful API used to collect, in real time, RFID location from individual soldiers to track movement and placement within the real-world scenarios. System would collect soldier positioning every second as well as location camera positioning as it relates to each individual soldier. Presentaiton Tier: Liferay, JSR286, Hibernate. Longitudinal Data System Architect (Department of Education Massachusetts) – (Jun 2009 - Dec 2009)

Designed an XML (SIF: Schools Interoperability Framework) enabled Longitudinal data system which included an operational data store (ODS), District Reporting, Service Agents, Business Rule Engine, Quality Analysis Data Viewer, Quality Analysis Bot, Notification System|Bot, District Vertical Reported, ETL load to state level data warehouse. The Data store contained an active staging and production environments as well as a migration path from current system to SIF enabled systems. The Environment included MSSQL, Oracle based technologies, Informatica and SIF Specification 1.5r1, 2.0r1, and 2.1 – which fit the served districts technology base. Migrated legacy-banking system to include the recovery of lost business rules.  Business Rules where then evaluate with customer to determine if appropriate for new system.  Effort consisted of two-legacy system which where extracted and transformed then migrated to Oracle Application 11i.  System was delivered in London, New York, Japan and Honk Kong. The development environment included Oracle 8i, Discoverer 4i, 9iAS (rel1), PL/SQL, Microsoft Access, and Proprietary systems.

 

Custom Data Warehouse (ETT Development) – Insurance Industry

Developed and installed custom Data Analysis forms and reports. This effort consisted of the following process areas: Stage One, Stage Two, and DW Production. XML Enabled Operational Data Store (ODS)

Design and Developed an XML capable operational data stores (ODS) for the general purpose of integrating data from disparate source systems in a single structure. This ODS was designed to contain low level or atomic data with limited history and is captured “real time”. Developed for the K12 using either the SIF [Schools interoperability Framework] data objects or Ed-Fi [Michael & Susan Dell Foundation]. The ODS was Web enabled via a RESTful API Service as well as an Agent technology. Environment: Grails, Groovy, RESTLet, Pentaho PDI, Informatica, MySQL, XML, and  XSLT.

 

Zone Integration Server (Open Source Development) – www.openzis.org

Improved the capability of an Open Source Zone Integration Server which now has the additional capability of handling application messaging within the US 2.3, US 2.2 and UK 1.1 SIF (School Interoperability Framework) specification. This Server is able to use MySQL, Postgres, MSSQL, and Oracle DB as its database backend. Testing used RUBY and Edustructures ADK. The above examples where produced for South Florida Water Management District using Oracle Portal, PLSQL, Email/SMS messaging, Ajax, and SVG graphics. The application allowed the district to capture relevant information from remote sites across south florida and present the information to the governors emergency readiness cabinet. The system tracks all storms, which threaten to affect Florida. I produced requirements, create WBS, designed/architected the system to include look and feel and developed the system.
