Dates:  April 2015 to Present – Rotech – Winter Park, Fl. – Lead Data Architect

 

Provided Data Architecture and Data Migration support for design of New Data Warehouse from multiple Data Sources for Medical Devices and associated Products as well as Conversion and Migration of Existing Oracle 11G and iSeries DB2 7.1 Sources to DB2 LUW 10.5. This included 5  different sources with the target being an DB2 LUW Database 10.5 using Blu Acceleration (Columnar Implementation) and Cognos as the Business Intelligence and Analysis tool and Infosphere Datastage and associated products for the ETL and Data Management processes. A CDC, ETL, and BI Tools Evaluation was conducted which included products from IBM, Informatica, Talend, Pentaho and Tableau. Master Data Management techniques used for Reference Data and Master Data analysis and definition as well as Metadata Management and Data Governance using Infosphere Governance Catalog. The project included Data Profiling and Mapping of the existing Data Sources and design of new Data Warehouse Architecture and testing using Blu Acceleration features. ER/Studio is being used as the Data Modeling tool initially and is being converted to Data Architect intgrated with Infosphere Metadata Repository. Other Tools and Software used included Oracle 11g, Informix, iSeries, and DB2 LUW under Lawson as the Source Data Structures.

Provided Data Architecture and Data Migration support for design of Data Migration procedures from new Data Sources into an existing Data Warehouse for Medical Trial and Study analysis. This included over 10 different sources with the target being an existing Oracle-based Data Warehouse. The project included Data Profiling and Mapping of the new Data Sources using MDM Methodology and Informatica, SAS, and Oracle objects creation. Duties included Creating Mapping Documents using ER/Studio as a Data Modeling tool, Informatica as an ETL Tool, Data Profiling, Data Validation, and Source to Target Data Mapping.  Tools and Software used included Oracle 11g, ER/Studio, SQL Developer, PL/SQL Developer. Provided Data Architecture and Data Migration as well as Master Data Management methodology support for implementation and design of a Data Store to support HEDIS Data and Reporting requirements. This Data Store has over 20 different sources with the target being Teradata. The project included creation of a specialized 3NF version of the HEDIS structure, Views to extract in VERISK/HEDIS structures, Data Migration of current Data Sources using Datastage, SAS, and Teradata Utilities (BTEQ, etc.), and Validation of Health Care codes (HPTC, HCPCS, USPS, and ICD9/ICD10) as well as making sure HIPAA regulations were followed.. Duties included Target Data Architecture using ERWin as a Data Modeling tool, Data Profiling, Data Validation, Source to Target Data Mapping, Business Rule Development, Tools and Software used included Teradata 14 and utilities, Facets Healthcare Software, ERWin, Project Management was Agile-based using JIRA.

Provided Database and Data Architecture support for implementation and design of a Consolidated Telecommunications Data Warehouse using Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Parallel Data Warehouse (PDW) appliance and dimensional modeling techniques combined with Agile Development. The project included consolidation of current Data Warehouses existing in 13 countries in Africa and South and Central America, test implementation of golden Gate software, . Sources included multiple SQL Server and Oracle based architectures. Source Data Ware houses ranged from 5 to 10 Terabytes in size for each with the ultimate Target estimated to be over 150 Terabytes in size. Involved with Appliance Proof of Concept (POC) with Greenplum, Hana, PDW, Teradata and Netezza, PL/SQL to SSIS conversion, SSAS ROLAP/MOLAP/Tabular comparison, XML Data Sources, existing ETL (SSIS) rearchitecture, and ER/Studio Repository implementation and population along with Metadata Repository population and integration between ER/Studio and Microstrategy Metadata Repositories. Lead Data Architect for Development and Implementation of Data Management and Data Governance Programs and MDM centered around the Implementation of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Financials, and Human Resources along with EPM as a Data Warehouse and Analytics base. This included the design, creation, development and population of a custom Metadata Repository and Business Glossary using PeopleSoft App Designer and Oracle as well as OBIEE, BI Publisher, BI Answers. Software involved in the Data Architecture and Migration were Oracle 11G, Datastage 8.5 in addition to the PeopleSoft Suites, EPM and OBIEE. The Source Data Migration systems included IDMS, VSAM and Oracle to the target PeopleSoft Oracle Targets and EPM Oracle Targets. Processes involved included Source and Target Data Mapping, Metadata Collection and Population as well as Data Management and Data Governance Process Development. ERWin used as core Data Modeling Tool and Toad used for Data Analysis.

Lead Data Architect and Project Leader for implementation of Infosphere Data Warehouse 9.7.3 and Information Server 8.7 Suites and Conversion and Migration of Microsoft SQL Server and Informatica-based Applications and Data Architecture to IBM Suite products for IBM Mortgage Processing Subsidiary – Seterus. This included development of new Forecasting and Analytics system, Data Architecture Re-Design, new Data Warehouse and implementation of SPSS and Cognos, and Visual Studio. ERWin used as core Data Modeling Tool. Also Provided UDB LUW DBA support.

This also included design and implementation of Business-based changes to target database and associated data conversion and ETL using DataStage and ELT using UDB and Data Verification tasks. This included Business Requirements definition, Hardware and software upgrade, Data Unload and Migration planning, Repartitioning, New feature testing, Data Model analysis and modification, ETL analysis and modification, version implementation, Data analysis, HIPAA Regulatory analysis, Health Care codes (HPTC, HCPCS, USPS, and ICD9) validation and ICD-10 conversion analysis. Software and tools used included UDB, Informatica, Datastage, ERWin, Performance Expert, and AIX.

 

Dates:  June 2005 to July 2008 – Perot Systems – Tampa, FL – Lead Data and Technical Architect

 

Provided Data, Data Base and Systems Architecture Support for multiple clients and user systems. This included Data Model development using ERWin and Physical Data Base Implementation and support for multiple systems using Master Data Management (MDM) concepts and Service Oriented Architecture Techniques using Java-base (Hibernate) Development. Transformation Projects including both OLTP and Data Warehouse using OLAP in a Star-Schema Dimensional Structure and DataStage as an ETL Tool as well as manual ELT processes based upon Views and Utility processes. Also Installed Golden Gate and IBM Replication tools for test bed analysis and replication process usage. Was first involved re-architecting existing SQL Server 2005-based T-SQL-based system to add new functionality, change design for that functionality and provide flexibility and ability for a User-Friendly reporting structure. The Second involved a complete transformation of a Worldwide Multi-site Web Services provider (Google Competitor) based upon 8 different high-volume (multiple millions daily) SQL Server 2000/2005-based Applications and associated multiple Databases into a single Times-Ten and Oracle 11G 3-tier Architecture structure using Hibernate as a Development Tool on a Linux platform. This was a 5 billion transactions per day systems which included design and creation of a very large Data Warehouse (9TB+) for User and Customer Access using Cognos.

Provided Data, Data Base and Systems Architecture Support for Sate of New Jersey Medicare and Medicaid Management Information Systems.. This included Analysis of new Requirements and Regulatory issues and evaluation of needed Data Model modifications using ERWin and resultant Physical Data Base change creation and implementation and support. Development of needed Data Migration processes to support those changes was also required. . The current system was a IBM IMS/DC-based application with DB2 as the Source Database. Tools used include DB2 Utilities, various Candle products and Platinum products.

 

Dates:  June 2001 to May 2004 – Kaiser-Permanente – Pasadena, CA - Lead Data and Technical Architect

 

Medical Health Record System (EMR) 3-Tier System (NT/AIX/Mainframe) composed of NT-based ‘fat’ client, AIX-based application servers, and mainframe zOS DB2-based database server running stored procedures and triggers and Java-based SQL using DB2 Connect servers as well as Websphere. Primary responsibilities included end-to-end performance and problem determination for multiple versions, including Production. Resolved many Logical/Physical Data Model issues caused by incorrect Design. ERWin used as base Repository. Other responsibilities included defining specific problem areas, in particular performance an HIPPA verification as related to Database. This included the Database SQL calls, DB2 Connect Issues and Application Server problems as well as EMC RAID DASD device (Symmetrix) Implementation. System was then scrapped for a new Internet-based EMR called EPIC and associated. Data Migration and conversion planning was then begun. Extensive data verification and HIPAA-related analysis also performed.

Provided Data Architect and Database Administration Architecture support for all Health Care Systems applications including new Data Warehouses composed of Billing, Clinical, Prescription, Drug Interaction, Disease Analysis, Supplier and Provider systems. This included Performance Tuning, Logical/Physical Data Modeling using ADW and ERWin, Design Review, SQL Analysis, Data Gathering using JAD Sessions, Validation of Health Care codes (HPTC, HCPCS, USPS, and ICD9). and overall support. Planned and Implemented DB2 V4 to V5 and related third-party products, upgrade and implemented many performance-related improvements saving company extensive Wall-time and CPU cycles. Designed and implemented 10+ Terabyte Data Warehouse on AIX/UDB and multiple Data Marts by implementing associated DataPropagator ETL processes from Mainframe to Multi-terabyte Data Warehouses/Data Marts on both Mainframe DB2 and AIX UDB. Used CA/Platinum Tools, various SAS/MXG products and Candle products.
