Professional Experience Hapara Inc – Auckland, NZ

Software Engineer May 2014 – Present

Hapara is a Silicon Valley startup based in Redwood City, CA with engineering and development based in

Auckland, New Zealand. Hapara builds products used by educators across the globe, running SaaS

applications that service over 4 million students and teachers.

As a full-stack engineer, work includes both front-end and back-end development on applications running

on top of Google’s cloud-based infrastructure. Tools used include Python, Go, AngularJS, Google Cloud

Platform and web service development with Google Apps APIs. Common tasks include liaising with

UX/Product team members, Agile/Scrum meetings and planning as well as DevOps and support.

SnapHire Ltd – Auckland, NZ

Software Developer July 2013 – May 2014

SnapHire is Human Resource tech company based in Auckland, New Zealand. SnapHire primarily

develops and maintains the SnapHire Recruitment System used by thousands of recruitment specialists

and job seekers around the US and NZ.

Contract Application Developer August 2012 – July 2013

The Ministry of Justice is a government organisation that performs administration, policy implementation

and governance around the courts and justice system of New Zealand. This particular role is an extended

contract for consulting, design and development of a new system to be used by court staff and judicial

officers for recording decisions and streamlining traditional paper-based processes.

As a full-stack developer, work includes front-end development with HTML5/CSS, Javascript/jQuery and

JSP/JSTL. Back-end development includes the use of Enterprise Java, Spring, Hibernate/JPA and Oracle
