The USCIS is
going through Enterprise wide Transformation. I am working as a technical
lead in a small group and responsible for exposing process management
objects through web application. There is a DHS wide intranet Sharepoint
system called “DHS connect” that host all the agencies of the DHS. As per
DHS directive all individual websites have to move into Sharepoint. My job is to
move USCIS EA Repository website that holds Enterprise architecture
information into Sharepoint. This site requires dynamic content reporting.
Reporting is done using mix techniques like direct SQL query and utilizing
report engine called Cognos, which is similar to crystal reports.
Sharepoint site serves as the frontend that displays complex Enterprise
Reports, collect and update data for these reports. There is high usage of
custom code, specialized webparts and widgets. I have also constructed
advance repository data search features, which are specific to the agency
and Sharepoint does not offer them out of the box. Software

extrapolated data to produces a postage due statements averaging $3 million
per year in downloadable PDF format. The automation increased efficiency

2007 approximately 93% of the entire country’s mail was sorted on software
I wrote for the Delivery Barcode Sorters (DBCS) machines. I was the Chief
Programmer of the DBCS machines. These realtime machines were high speed
sorters that read markings and sorted 40,000 pieces of mail per hour. The machines
interfaced with multiple databases and systems and produced generated large
quantities of data. It was then uploaded to several systems in realtime. |

responsibility was to reverse engineer the DOS based application and
rewrite the program using visual studio. I had to perform extensive field
testing, comply with federal law and create an application that can be used
by employees extensive without training. |
