Created prototype for http://ghin.pdc.org/ that adhere to Spatial Data
Infrastructure (SDI) portal environment that supports International
Organization for Standardization (ISO) and Federal Geographic Data
Committee (FGDC) metadata profiles. Created using Geoportal Server
1.1.1 framework which supported Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) CSW
2.0.2 or Z39.50 protocols and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol
(LDAP) for authentication, access, and security mechanism. The
framework worked with Esri ArcGIS, ArcSDE, Postgresql, OpenDS, and
Microsoft Exchange. The web portal running on Apache Tomcat 6 on an
UNIX system. Furnished web portal using eXtensible Markup Language
(XML) properties and modified JavaServer Pages, JavaScript, HTML.
