September 2004 to May 2007 Software
Development Manager ·
Developed the build system and a functionally
narrow vertical application as a proof of concept for the CyberTrust
Platform, which used JBoss EJB 3.0 for persistence, session and transactional
management and web services endpoints and JBoss Seam and JavaServer Faces
(JSF) to provide a Web interface. · Managed and directed a development team of 14 responsible
for the Security Management Program (SMP), a $30M per annum income product
supporting Cybertrust’s services offering which provided a measure of a
client’s compliance with various regulatory and non-regulatory standards, and
vulnerabilities found in their environment. Using an ASP model, it
supported over 600 companies and 1500 users. ·
Translated high-level
requirements from product management into functional software designs and
specifications to be built. ·
Architected
and developed the SMP software that included a rich client graphical user
interface (GUI) using Laszlo that communicated with a JBoss 4 application
server using over 70 SOAP endpoints (over HTTPS) implemented using the Web
Services for J2EE functionality in J2EE 1.4. Due to the agile
development process and ease of adding new SOAP endpoints, SMP became the
flagship for SOA development within CyberTrust. I also developed a report

OpenDocument file format and Jakarta Commons Jelly that allowed editing and
PDF file creation and cut processing report generation time from 30 minutes
to 10 seconds. ·
Created an
agile, automated build process that built, deployed, started and then
automatically tested the product, using tests developed using J2EEUnit. ·
