InVentiv is loose association of number of companies, agencies and units that are coming into the corporate umbrella with their own resources, policies, sometimes-strong preferences and distinctive culture. As a director, my main responsibility was to create standards and polices; identify, assess and prioritize risks and in economical fashion minimize and control it; establish new data center and rationalize and consolidate applications across all business lines.

Accomplishments

·   Provide architectural vision, strategy & roadmap, also leadership and expertise in development of standards, frameworks, architectural governance, design patterns and IT best practices. Define and maintain the performance, capacity and availability metrics of applications within their operating environments. Assess the risk and associated impact on capacity, performance characteristics and metrics in preparation for full consolidation under VMware of Windows applications and services, migration from Sun to AIX with establishing standardized environment for WebSphere, Tibco and other services. Establish sizing for new architecture thru capacity planning and preliminary budget for planned consolidation and migration activity.

Accomplishments

·  Reengineered IT operations to reflect latest industry trends and leading edge technologies, transforming IT into strategic business partner.

·  Researched cost/benefit and assessed risk/rewards for technology investments and purchases. Revised and renegotiated all technology related contracts reducing expenses 35%.

·  Architected, planned and managed migration to virtual servers (VMware, VSphere, ESX, SRM with EMC CLARiiON), reducing number of physical servers by 75% and improving server time readiness from 3 weeks to under 1 hours.

·  Architected grid and managed market simulation development for Windows Compute Cluster, later migrating to HPC 2008.

·  Introduced standard desktop and automated builds saving 4 to 6 hours per desktop. Further on enhancing process utilizing App-V, ThinApp and VDI.

·  Dramatically improved customer satisfaction metrics through reduction of weeklong average helpdesk backlog to 95% responsiveness within same day.

·  Significantly improved end user productivity and contentment by combining e-mails, voice mails and faxes in one mailbox by migrating to Voice over IP telephony. Implemented stand alone and desktop video conferencing.
