   Present

 

·               Partners Healthcare – Architect for O365/Azure. Client started an Office Pro-Plus desktop project without any clear direction on cloud services. First educated on services and the direction they possibly wanted to go. Once consensus was met on direction, I designed and implemented the hybrid system to include the on premise Exchange 2010 system, the hybrid exchange servers, and the ADFS 3.0/Azure DirSync upgrade to AAD Connect servers. Added Ironport SMTP gateways onto the on prem environment as well as a trial run of Exchange Online Protection and Exchange Online Archiving for the cloud users. Eventually moved client to total SharePoint online and O365 as Onsite engineer and PM. 100,000 plus user environment. Assess the Symantec Enterprise Vault system for either upgrade to the split off VERITAS system or the move to online archiving. Assess Tivoli TSM for either upgrade or migration to Symantec/VERITAS NetBackup.

·               Loews Movie Theaters – Integrated ADFS Multifactor Authentication (MFA) for client to utilize with O365, on premise, and mobile systems for their SSO initiative.

·               Warner Brothers/HBO – Exchange 2007 public folder conversion for overall move to O365. Converted all mail enabled public folders to shared mailboxes, all contact and data folders to SharePoint for their impending move to O365.

·               JGC – End Point Resource Architect to include projects for SCCM 2012, ADFS on-premise integration with Azure, SCOM 2012, and MDOP (App-v/Med-v) integration. Designed and did initial POC and production implementation of all the above projects. Hands on from a technical perspective and project managed from inception to completion. Customer needed more cloud integration at a later date so I extended on premise through Azure Express Route so their SQL, Sharepoint, and CRM systems would have redundancy in the Azure. Used a combination of VM’s and Containers.

·               Reviora – Data Center Architect for new product line SaaS with MS Dynamics CRM. Designed and implemented new datacenter infrastructure for multi-tenant CRM customers. Also included my design and build of a large scale high availability SQL 2012 environment, new CRM customer Active Directory forest, SharePoint environment, load balanced with Citrix Netscalers, and custom vlan environments for each new customer. Second project with customer was to extend their vmware datacenter environment to vCloud Air for a private cloud to be automated for their clients for optimal efficiency. vRealize Config Management, Automation, and Orchestration was utilized for the OS distribution, DNS Hostname creation and management and also the workflow.

·               Blue Cross Blue Shield North Carolina – Lync Enterprise Architect. Client already had Lync 2010 implemented but only for internal IM and Presence. Design and implemented external connectivity with new edge servers load balanced and reversed proxies through F5 LTM’s. Separated out AV roles to integrate with the current Avaya Aura system through new Session Managers. As well as Architected and implemented their Acme Packet E-SBC’s for the SIP services to their provider.

·               Energy Transfer Partners – SCCM Architect. Evaluate the current problematic 2012 implementation. Solve the Management Point and Distribution Point replication issues. Role out the End Point Security role to help with acquired company’s desktop security and virus protection. Develop Auto Deployment Rule plan for Software Updates.

·               Blue Cross Blue Shield Florida – SCCM Architect. There were a couple of sub-projects involved with this initiative.

o        BCBS needed upgrading from 2007 to 2012

o        Newly acquired smaller company was using Altiris and needed to be migrated/merged into BCBS’s SCCM environment

o        Before acquisition, BCBS was in the planning stages of Win 7 desktop rollout

o        Combination of Med-V and App-V was utilized to accommodate critical non-compliant apps

·               Prime/Axion Services in TX/Maine – Architect to merge 4 companies and create on premise services for Exchange 2013 and Lync 2013 from the current Office 365 model that each company had separate. The subset of projects for the overall were as follows below;

o        Build VMware infrastructure to house new environment in new co-lo datacenter

o        Collapse 4 Active Directory Forest to 1.

o        Build Exchange 2013

o        Build Symantec Enterprise Vault solution

o        Integrate Opentext RightFax 10.5 enterprise solution with Exchange, MS Office, Sharepoint, and HP Multifunction machines.

o        Build Lync 2013 including integrate with the current enterprise VoIP system which included multiple ip pbx’s that needed integrating. We utilized Acme Packet E-SBC’s and their ESD.

o        Migrate from Office 365 to on-premise systems for Exchange and Lync

·               MillerCoors in Milwaukee, WI - Architected POC for customer’s existing infrastructure co-lo vendor IBM for an OCS 2007 R2 migration to Lync 2013, 9500 users. Project consisted of validating the current environment for readiness for upgrade. Test environment built in DR location. POC conducted.  Production rolled out to Co-located environment in different location with enterprise voice and mobility included. Integration with Cisco Unity/Call Manager, Exchange 2010, and SharePoint as well. Multiple SIP providers were corralled using Acme Packet’s Enterprise Session Directors along with their E-SBC’s. Reconfigured VMware 5 infrastructure to accommodate new system.

·               ABS in Houston, TX Exchange Migration Consultant to architect and migrate users from Lotus Notes to Exchange 2010/Office 365 with plans to move to 2013 based upon the 2-node server role model. This project spanned worldwide to include 8 different countries including South America, Europe, The Middle East and Asia. Configured and installed all remote servers totaling 32 servers for the foreign sites after architecting the corporate sites build out which included an additional 10 servers plus DR. Utilized Quest tools for the coexistence and migration. Utilized F5 Big IP load balancers for traffic on the front end for both Exchange CAS servers and also Lync Edge and Enterprise Front End pools. Client had Opentext enterprise-faxing solution already but not integrated so was added to the Exchange architecture from client server and web services aspect. Also finalized the Lync 2010 architecture to include integration with Exchange and planned out for integrated voice with Cisco Call Manager/Unity for a seamless unified messaging solution with again a future plan for Lync 2013 as the end result. Office 365 was for the external business units so federation and directory synchronization were setup.

·               Champion Technologies in Houston, TX OCS 2007r2 to Lync 2010 then to Lync 2013 upgrade. 16k users total. Multiple frontend pools across international lines. Collaborated with Cisco UCM, Exchange UM, and SharePoint. Mediation servers were collocated with frontend pools and connected to multiple IP gateways. Some sites were SBA’s to keep hardware costs down. UAG’s were used as well for the reverse proxy aspect. To load balance the frontend servers, Cisco ACE’s were utilized. Architect and build the VMware 5 infrastructure to accommodate new system.

·               State of Arkansas Exchange 2003 – 2010 upgrade/consolidation for all its internal organizations. Also to include UM role for Exchange 2010. System spanned two datacenters one being a DR site. 21k users with 5k being BES users upgraded from 4.0 to 5.0.Ironmail appliances were utilized for message hygiene and compliance. High Availability was continued with CCR clusters moving to DAGs. A simple two-database copy, active and passive split between primary and DR site was utilized and an F5 HLB solution for the CAS array to provide site resiliency. A new Data Protection Manager (DPM) 2012 install was implemented to help with the new exchange and sql systems since there were no points in time recovery systems before tape backups within the environment.

·               BMCC NYC Manhattan, NY Architect/PM POC was the central campus with over 25k users and 2 datacenters. The project included an NDS to Active Directory move, a Domino/Lotus Notes 8.5 to Exchange 2010/Office 365 move, an upgrade from VMware VI3 to VI4 for new infrastructure, and a new implementation of SCCM 2012. Quest tools were used for the NDS to AD and Notes to Exchange migrations. NDS Migrator, CMN coexistence, and Notes Migration Manager. SCCM 2012 system was delivered to manage the 15k newly rolled out Win7 desktop environment and the 500 servers between the 2 datacenters. Installed new RightFax connectors for Exchange to work in conjunction from the RightFax server with Lotus Notes. Hands on through all initial phases of implementation and then turned over to college staff to implement throughout remainder of college system.

·               Direct Clients of my own company – Multiple Texas School District Messaging Projects

o        A - Exchange 2003 to 2010 migration. 12500 users.

o        B – LCS to OCS then to Lync 2010 migration

o        C - GroupWise to Exchange 2010 Migration. 5000 users.

o        D – Notes to Exchange 2010/Office 365, 7500 users

o        E – OCS 2007 R2 upgrade to Lync 2010

o        G – Exchange 2000 upgrade to 2010. 22100 users.

·               Blains Supply in Janesville, WI Solution Architect on a messaging and collaboration project to include a DR site as well. Plan included reassessing the current exchange 2007/2010 upgrade, which was not finished by prior vendor. Also to add mail to the DR site to keep in line with the company’s Business Continuity for its other critical apps. Hardware used in finishing out the upgrade were IBM Bladecenter H chassis with HS22v blades mostly for the CAS Arrays with a few exceptions for Mailbox servers in smaller sites with no SAN. VMware ESXi Embedded was also used for other blades in the chassis for various other servers as well. Along with that were BNT Virtual Fabric Switches and Qlogic’s FIbre Channel Expansion Modules for chassis operations. Keeping consistent with the company’s NetApp partnership, utilization of a NetApp FAS 3210 series for backend storage was opted for. A combination of multiple node DAG’s were spread throughout the solution as well as Netapp’s SnapDrive, SnapManager for Exchange and SnapMirror products for the source and target DR solution. Lync and SharePoint Server are the next rollout phases of the project which the foundation has been laid.

·               BJ Services/Baker Hughes Houston, TX Infrastructure Solution Architect for a merger of oil field services companies. Consolidations included the messaging systems (Domino/Lotus Notes to Exchange 2010, Sametime to OCS/Lync), AD Forests migration (2003 to 2008), Core Datacenter IBM SAN consolidation. VMware infrastructure was heavily utilized for consolidation efforts along with a combination of tools from Quest and Binary Tree for the Instant Messaging and Mail systems and also Domino apps over to SharePoint.

·               Allscripts in Raleigh, NC SCOM Architect. Analyzed, Designed, and Implemented server, SAN, and Cisco device monitoring across multiple locations utilizing SCOM. SCOM monitored devices included NetApp FAS system, Cisco switches through Solarwinds Orion connector, VMware environment through Veeam nWorks software, and various management packs for the remaining windows based server environment.

·               Metro Networks/Westwood One in Houston, TX Consultant on Project consisting of moving old legacy systems from multiple datacenters to 2-hosted facilities. The ITIL methodology was followed thoroughly within this environment for Service Support and Service Delivery. Old systems that included NT4, Exchange 5.5, Custom Financial systems, Legacy Compaq Storage Works SAN, and some older VMware 2.5 environments. The new environment consisted of Active Directory 2K8, Exchange 2010 on Server 2K8, SAP, HP EVA 4400, and VMware vSphere 4. Hands on included designing and implementing the NT4/Ex5.5 move to AD2008/Ex2K10 (DAG across two Datacenters), VMware 2.5 to vSphere 4, and configuring the HP EVA 4400 SAN. Currently utilizing IAG to access remote systems now at Co-Lo Datacenter for all users. Designed a solution to move to the new Forefront UAG. Ongoing PM of the project with 10 other consultants dispersed geographically. Number of users and size of data was approximately 15k and 200TB.

·               Horizon Wind Energy in Houston, TX Data Center Migration Architect. The Infrastructure Library (ITIL) for ICT followed strict guidelines for Design, Planning, Deployment, and Operations. Project involved moving and migrating two data centers to new location and then utilizing one older data center as a DR location. Project also included synchronizing and migrating two acquired company’s Active Directory domains and their email systems. One email system was Exchange 2003 and the other was Lotus Notes/Domino over to an Exchange 2007 SCC local over to a remote SCR email system at the new data center. Netapp FAS 3140 SAN was used for storage and also Netapp Snapmirror technology for DR purposes. Some other technologies used during this project were Netapp SnapManager for Exchange, SQL, and SharePoint. Microsoft HyperV was utilized for some consolidation efforts as well. Managed the project as well as architected the solution with some hands on implementation to help out the engineers.

·               Wright Express VMware Health check and Training on VI3 (ESX 3.5) environment. Virtualization Consisted of Exchange, SQL, SAP, Oracle (Which had not been certified by Oracle yet), and file/print systems. Training was also conducted on VCB and SRM integration with EMC Clarion and DMX storage systems.

·               Whataburger Corpus Christi, TX Data Center Disaster Recovery and Consolidation effort. Utilized a combination of VMware VI3 virtualization technology (which had to be upgraded from VMware 2.5.5 to 3.5 using the migration upgrade path) for the consolidation effort and EMC RecoverPoint technology for DR. EMC Networker for backup activities, PIT CDP snapshot recoveries, setting policies, and browsing snapshots. Utilized CX4-120 and CX3-80 SAN and Dell PE1950’s and 2950’s for virtualization and RecoverPoint appliances with local protection and remote protection, (CDP/CRP). 75 servers down to 50 and 25TB of data maintained and replicated. Upgraded 50 of the servers to Windows Server 2008. Once Infrastructure was moved a combination of XenApp and XenDesktop solutions were used to manage OS, Application, and User profile instances for all the branch restaurants.

·               FMC Technologies Houston, TX SCCM Redesign. Local/Central implementation initially was not laid out for global operations. I redesigned the architecture to handle the new load imposed upon it. Hardware consisted of HP C-Class Blades and EVA Storage. New architecture resulted in handling over 7000 systems globally with growth for the remaining 2000 coming with the new acquisition.

·               NTT Data for Accenture in Sterling, VA Exchange 2007 and SQL 2005 Storage Architect. The project scenario was to architect a storage and replication system utilizing EMC’s CX3-80 SAN systems and EMC Replication Manager and RecoverPoint. All new servers were built on Server 2008. The end result included 6 fully populated CX3-80 with over 300 TB. A combination of snaps and clones for SQL and all clones for all the Exchange Storage groups cloned by EMC’s Replication Manager and Test Distributed to other Datacenters via RecoverPoint. System was a daily clone and snap operation with backup to tape done on the weekends. Navisphere Management for the SAN with Cisco MDS 9000 switches utilized for the SAN fabric. Domain Controllers and F/P servers were also included in the model as early success provided for stability of all systems totaling upwards of 3000 servers

·               Silver Lake Partners in San Francisco, CA Architect for Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007 migration. Scenario included 3 AD Forests, Exchange 2000/2003, 45 sites, and 1125 servers across 3 continents. Analyzed current environment, architected the solution, managed testing of Pilot, and implemented migration. Side portions of this project included Symantec Enterprise Vault migration from Zantaz EAS and Blackberry services, and an access system was built utilizing MS IAG 2007 hardware from Celestix for access to the new Exchange system and their already built SharePoint and SAP systems.

·               MSI System Center Architect for SCOM (Operations Manager) and SCCM (Configuration Manager). Business assessment of client’s infrastructure to determine what would be monitored and managed. POC to show design and architecture operations. Pilot production to include 100 of 500 servers managed by SCOM and 1000 of 4600 clients managed by SCCM for pilot. Knowledge transfer and documentation turnover to client for remainder of production environment. Utilized Server 2008 with Hyper-v.

·               AZ Electronics in Somerville, NJ VMware (VI3 3.5) implementation. Training session for engineers on VMware, HP C-Class Blade Enclosure, SB600c storage systems, HP Onboard Administrator, ILO, and HP SIM. Design, POC, and implemented a VI3 infrastructure for production, specifically for SAP. Trained staff on P2V, V2V, and the operability of Virtual Center.

·               Schlumberger in Houston, TX Solution Architect for (SCCM) Configuration Manager (6800 clients) and (SCOM) Operations Manager (200 servers) were the core products the solution was designed around. 8000+ clients were managed through the system.

·               EGL/Ceva in Houston, TX Project Manager for a Global Messaging Infrastructure to include an Exchange 2007 Implementation, Instant Messaging move from Lotus Sametime to LCS/OCS and Domino applications to SharePoint. Project encompassed a merger between these two companies, one utilizing an Exchange 2003 organization with 75,000 users and upwards of 2700 servers and the other utilizing a combination of Lotus Notes, Exchange 2003, and POP Mail with 125,000 users and upwards of 5000 servers. Second company’s various mail systems were spread across 9 different Active Directory Forests worldwide and one Novell Edirectory environment. Ironport x1050 front ends were utilized instead of Exchange Edge server roles and also in conjunction with AD Federation Services due to the large number of external communications with customers and business partners. Also laid out the foundation for the Data Center consolidation to take place in the next phase of the IT integration. Two separate Blackberry environments were also consolidated into one.

·               Hearst Media/Houston Chronicle in Houston, TX Solution Architect for Active Directory Forest Consolidation and Lotus Notes to Exchange 2003/2007 migration. Also included moving their Domino docs to SharePoint lists with Quest Notes Migrator. This also included their move from their federated Sametime environment to Office Communications Server. Very complex project with several toolsets involved such as Quest Migration Manager, MIIS, and also Simple Synch. Environment consisted of 8 primary sites with approximately 9000 users. Ironport c350 and c650 were utilized for front-end security.

·               NEC in Austin and Dallas, TX Project Manager for a multiple Data Center restructuring initiatives. Moved and consolidated 12 DC’s down to 6 throughout the world for this financial institution arm of the customer. This included various solutions around Information Technology Voice/Data, Fire Suppression, HVAC, and Building code understanding.

·               Molina Healthcare in Long Beach, CA MIIS Architect to add additional capability to their self-password reset process also added business workflow and application security synchronization through the organization.

·               Dell Partnered Solutions Architect Projects Below;

o        Exchange 2007 Implementation for a financial institution including all new server roles for an external/internal solution for a 25,000 seat initiative. Planned, Designed, and managed the initiative. This project also included Live Communication Server 2005 and Sharepoint 2007 for total communication systems.

o        VMware Consolidation Architect for a Naval Air Station abroad to include 500 HP Blade server units and 300 applications. Upgraded ESX 2.5.3 server farm to 3.0.2 also.

o        Training Consultant for an international holding company for various services organization on Active Directory and Microsoft Clustering.

o        Office 2007/Exchange 2007 Migration from Lotus Notes 6/Domino. Designed and planned the impending migration for this customer. Utilized Quest Software’s toolset for Migration planning and management and also some of Microsoft’s accompanied tools for simpler tasks. This planned design also included the synchronization of the Domino Directory and Active Directory.

·               Lyondell in Houston, TX Systems Center Architect (SMS 2003 and MOM 2005 for upgrade to SCOM 2007 and SCCM 2007) to organize their system resource management, software utilization, patch management, and reporting structure for a 3500 desktop and a 325 blade server environment. Also a remaining Novell environment that utilized Zenworks to manage a move onto the new windows environment.

·               Whirlpool/Maytag in Benton Harbor, MI Solution Architect for a merger between these two appliance companies. Top Level design and methodology for Active Directory integration and messaging migration from Lotus Notes to Exchange 2003. Project Server 2003 was also utilized to collaborate on the ongoing initiatives. Sub-Project included Altiris based deployments for the desktop refurbishing and software distribution.

·               Silvertrain Various VMware VRA’s (Virtualization Readiness Assessment) and upgrades through this major VAR ranging from the financial sector to the Healthcare medium.

·               Draper Labs in Cambridge, MA Exchange Architect. Unique initiative to migrate this customer from Oracle Collaboration Suite (OCS) to Exchange 2003. Only consisted of 3500 users and 30 HP Blade server units, but presented a very unique security perspective because of the government based business and national security projects that the customer was responsible for. Also re-architected their Active Directory Structure to effectively support the new Exchange System. Utilized Microsoft’s native tools for migration along with a calendar migration tool from Simpler Webb.

·               Carriage Services in Houston, TX Solution Architect for a Systems Center. This includes SMS 2003 and MOM 2005. This was after an initial Exchange 2003 Architecture and Active Directory redesign. Client included 45 sites and 62 servers from the monitoring side of Systems Center and approximately 3200 users. Systems Center was used to establish a monitoring piece for all servers, monitoring for Active Directory, SQL, and Exchange, software deployment, software monitoring, and patch management.

·               Boston Arch Diocese Active Directory and Exchange Architect for a Disaster Recovery Solution. Provided a solution for the church to recover from failed domain controllers and exchange network. Environment consisted of AD and Exchange spread across 10 sites. Exchange was clustered to an EMC Symmetrix with 5 backend nodes and 2 front servers. Environment consisted of approximately 3500 users.

·               Millennium Pharmaceuticals in Cambridge, MA Project Manager and Solution Architect for an infrastructure consisting of Active Directory/Exchange 2003, Windows Server 2003 and XP Desktop Migration project. Server Backend consisted of Migration from NT4 to Windows Enterprise Server 2003. The Desktop side consisted of Microsoft’s new (ZTI) Zero Touch Installation OSD (Operating System Deployment) process. This process is via SMS 2003. Client had SMS 2.0 which was upgraded to SMS 2003 first. Environment covered 10 locations and 5500 users. Server side consisted of 105 servers. Hands on PM roll with a team of 10. Also Initial direction for a data move from old storage platform to a new SAN system for a project in Q2 for 2006. Project Server 2003 was utilized for the overall tracking and assignment tasks for the project team. All sites utilized Project Server and/or SharePoint to keep the project aligned with the business goals at hand.

·               A&K LLP in Houston, TX MOM 2005 implementation for 6 sites, 200 Blade server environments.  Managed services included Active Directory, Exchange 2003, SQL Server, Citrix Metaframe, Blackberry Enterprise Server, and IManage.

·               TNI Miranda in Provo, Utah SMS 2003 Design.  Client needed to implement a Patch Management Software Compliance solution based on SMS.  Although client had only 6500 users, the architecture was a vast WAN solution covering 76 international locations that needed management of some resources in some form or fashion.

·               FBFS in Des Moines, Iowa Novell Nsure Identity Manager 2.1 implementation.  Client needed to upgrade their current NT4 Identity Management solution to an Active Directory supported solution.  This involved removing Novell’s older Account Manager 2.1 and then upgrading NT to Active Directory.  Synchronizing two Edirectory implementations along with Active Directory through Nsure IDM 2.1. Also added to test environment the inclusion of the rules and policies of a workflow between some of their other applications such as Lotus Notes and their financial product.

·               Salem Communications in Camarillo, CA EMC SAN (Clariion CX 500) Implementation and VMware upgrade. Clarion CX500 Series design and implementation for a Broadcasting Communications company.  Project included the physical installation of the SAN with McData Fabric Switches.  Software included the Navisphere Suite, PowerPath, ATF, SAN copy, Snapview, and VisualSAN for monitoring. The initial purpose of the SAN was to house VMware virtual machines of the customer’s server consolidation effort. But also included the input of the 3500 user Exchange 2003 Cluster onto the SAN. Developed and led project to upgrade entire environment from ESX 2.1.x to 2.5.x and upgrade VirtualCenter 1.1.x to 1.2.x

·               Waste Management in Houston, TX Identity Management re-architecture.  Project consisted of validating and recommending on a Siteminder, Edirectory, and Active Directory implementation. Siteminder 5.5 was to be upgraded to 6.0, Edirectory 8 was utilized as the policy store and DirXML was used to port initial user information from Active Directory and Peoplesoft.

·               Franklin Bank in Houston, TX Identity Management solution for Bank in Project M. Netegrity’s suite of products were utilized for this engagement to provide a business workflow for the HR and Financials of their Peoplesoft implementation.  An initial SSO initiative along with the provisioning of some of their web enabled customer centric apps became the main focus after getting into the project midway. Identity Minder along with SiteMinder was used.

·               Project O – Active Directory and Exchange Upgrade for a Real Estate Management company consisting of 29 sites and 3400 users.  The directory upgrade was from AD 2K to AD 2K3 and Exchange 2K to 2K3. Of the 3400 user base, 1200 were remote out of office users. A front end, back end standard solution was implemented with the exception of two OWA servers on a load balancing scenario for their impending acquisition of 1500 more remote users.  Also an EMC San implementation was design to house the data for Exchange and also their other sensitive network data.  The SAN used EMC’s CX500 series managed by Navisphere and Cisco MDS family of switches.

·               Franklin Bank in Houston, TX New Exchange 2003 architecture and design.  Bank consisted of 25 locations with a user base of 5700 users. Unique architecture consisted of designing an implementation from pop mail to a co-located facility, which was already being used for the financial systems.  Other design implementations were geo-clustering the solution for Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity compliance, not to mention Sarbanes Oxley compliance. Some other technical aspects included Clustered backend on an EMC Clarion SAN with data replication, Active Directory group polices with exchange system policies, and also exchange customized email archival for Sarbanes Oxley compliance.  Second project for this customer included a Systems Center (SMS 2003/MOM 2k5) architecture and implementation to manage their resources. Software/Hardware installation, compliance, and operational management were the driving factors behind this deliverable. AD, Exchange, SQL, and Server 2003 were the modules deemed pertinent for a MOM managed environment.

·               LIU in Manhattan, NY Active Directory w/Server 2003 and Exchange 2003 Architect for a large financial institution in the NYC Wall Street area.  Project entailed designing a migration path from NT4 and Exchange 5.5 to the new technology while also delivering an interim operation methodology to include 120,500 users across 8 international sites as well.  Some areas covered and utilized were Group Policies for server and user security hardening, Active Directory, Exchange Active Directory Connector and Blackberry Server Connectivity.  Designed the Exchange 2003 system to work on a Dell/EMC SAN clustered solution utilizing the CX700 series with Cisco MDS 9000 Fabric Switches.  A front end consisting of OWA and SMTP server solutions was delivered through MS ISA server to the backend Dell/EMC SAN clustered solution.

·               TXU in Dallas, TX Systems Center architect and design for this utility provider. SMS 2003 and MOM 2k5 were utilized to manage the network services, server, active directory, and commerce server activity of an online customer-billing environment. Design and Architect of the entire process and also PM on the delivery of the design.

·               Boston University SMS 2003 Proof of Concept project for this University. Project included all immediate local campus as primary sites and all remote locations as child sites. SMS was utilized for Compliance, H/W and S/W management, and Security and Patch Management.

·               Moffit Cancer Center in Tampa, Fla Exchange 2003 migration from Exchange 2000 for this Cancer Research Center with 7000 seats. SMS 2003 and MIIS were also designed and architected. Some work included:

o   Upgrade from Server 2k to Server 2003

o   Exchange 2003 clustered implementation on a Dell/EMC Clarion SAN solution

o   Reorganization of Active Directory utilizing some new benefits of server 2003

o   SMS 2003 design and implementation for server and desktop management

o   MIIS was implemented to help with account provisioning and Single Sign On initiatives. Also to help publish certificates to transcribers in a secure AD forest.

·               KCI in San Antonio, TX Active Directory 2003 Implementation for 10,500-node user Medical Company. The project also included upgrading the Lotus Notes Domino infrastructure to support Cisco Call Manager and Unified Messaging architecture. The project also included a product called P-Synch to synchronize all these and future database passwords. The project started off with a 500 user pilot to synch Active Directory and Domino Directory and then tie Unity into both and once successful, the remaining user base was done. Servers were upgraded to IBM X Series to support the new messaging system.

·               Meijer in Grand Rapids, MI Subject Matter Expert for this large general merchandise corporation to include Server Consolidation effort on Windows Server 2003 from 5500 servers to 2500, Exchange 2003 migration from GroupWise 5, and SMS 2003 management infrastructure. Also designed a MIIS infrastructure to alleviate the interim of all the directory services and for the future SSO project and MOM2k architecture to manage the Wintel Server Infrastructure. Some hands on work included server security hardening while consolidating, Exchange Cluster Architecture, centralized and delegated administration modeling, and enterprise security.

·               Dominos Pizza in Ann Arbor, MI Principle Architect migrating from NDS to Active Directory. Architectural designs included multi-site systems consisting of SMS 2003, MIIS for interim mail synchronization, data synch, and for account provisioning, MOM2k, and a mail migration from Lotus Notes to Exchange 2003. The Lotus Notes migration consisted of 1100 servers housing mail and collaboration data. All this was migrated over to Exchange and Exchange Clustered solution. A combination of SMTP and the Notes connector was utilized for coexistent synchronization. Windows Server 2003 and SMS 2003 were the core components of this engagement due to server consolidation efforts and management of the POS groups’ custom application. Also lead a security project to alleviate concerns based on franchise-owned stores. Organization included 4500 stores spanning international boundaries and approximately 35,000 users. All migration duties were accomplished with a combination of Quest and Aelita Migration software.

·               Agribank in St Paul, MN Designed a Microsoft Infrastructure layout for a banking institution providing services to 16 states and two other countries. There were approximately 100,500 users and 3000 servers. This project also involved migrating from a mixed Sun Directory Services/Novell NDS logical infrastructure to Microsoft infrastructure. Wingra Technologies were utilized for the mail migration from Lotus Notes to Exchange 2003. Quest Migration Products were utilized for all other migration operations.

 

1.                       The layout consisted of multi-forest Active Directory on Windows Server 2003 with Exchange Server 2003. Also included were SMS 2003 and MOM.

2.                       The new network was installed on an EMC San with 100/IBM x345 servers.

3.                       The migration included a test lab, 2000 user pilot phase, a 2000 user production phase, and then full implementation phase. Some hands on work included

§  Designing the multi forest AD to cross firewalls and span the 16 sites

§  MIIS was utilized to help with directory synchronization of NDS, Sun NIS accounts, and with AD.

§  SMS 2003 enterprise design

§  Migration of 500 Domino Servers to 5 8 node Exchange Clusters. The calendars and personal address books as well as the local mail notes file were moved. Notes Migrator from Wingra was used.

§  Exchange 2003 Organization design

§  EMC SAN build for Exchange 2003

§  Server and desktop security with MS Group Policy structure

§  Physical and Logical Security Design.

 

·               Cameron McKenna Principle Architect on Novell NDS upgrade to Netware 6. Client included a 5500 user node across 7 wide area locations with two being international. 100 Netware servers were upgraded. Some pieces of the Architecture included GroupWise, BorderManager, eDirectory, and DirXML, which was later upgraded to the full Nsure product suite. The chosen network management application was Zenworks for Desktops, Servers, and Patches.

·               Borders Designed and Implemented an Identity Management solution for a large retail chain of approximately 10,000 plus users utilizing a suite of products from Netegrity. The engagement was a result of an Active Directory Application Mode and Exchange 2000 clustered deployment across three different forests with problematic synchronization and also a Sun One MetaDirectory store was still in place in one forest. Those products included SiteMinder and IdentityMinder in Cross Domain SSO scenario. The products were also utilized to control access to sensitive information and also to create a policy based system, which triggered a business workflow within all departments automatically for better management of campus resources.

·               Project B – Active Directory migration from NDS5 to Win2K server and Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2K for a 3000+ user Law Firm. The Exchange system was put on a 4 node Server 2000 cluster for stability. Used Zenworks to manage current Netware infrastructure whilst migrating to Microsoft Infrastructure using Aelita Software Migration Suite. Customer already had license for NetIQ’s Management suite, so after migration NetIQ was utilized. Right Fax Enterprise was designed and implemented across a 5 regional international office system. Designed and implemented a Citrix Metaframe XPe farm for 500 remotes users. Also upgraded an older 3com infrastructure to Cisco hardware including new Cisco Call Manager system and Unity Unified Messaging Architecture to interact with the new Exchange email system and phone voip system.

·               Project A - Migrated a staffing firm of 1000 People from NT4 to Windows 2000 Active Directory and Exchange 2000. Toolsets utilized for the management and migration were Aelita Controlled Migration Suite consisting of the products Domain Migration Wizard, Project Manager, and Data Mover.
