PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

TECHNICOLOR, Burbank, Ca2006 – Present

Enterprise Architect / Cloud Architect, 2013 - Present

Responsible for technology selection, implementation and execution of enterprise level projects and to ensure technologies work together cohesively. Worked closely with product teams, built strong relationships with cross functional teams, and stakeholders.  Acted as a change agent and facilitator influencing and leading efforts with ideas across the IT organization and business teams.

 

·        Leader of the Office 365 and Google pilot projects. Technical lead for architecting the Office 365 solution implementation and the deployment plan for over 10,000 users in offices all over the world.  This included putting in the fold the related toolsets (Lync, Yammer, OneDrive, SharePoint).

·        Worked closely with business partners to obtain buy in and assist the business in implementing proposed changes.  Led the creation of various enterprise projects acting as the primary liaison to the business and stakeholders.

·        Cloud Architect and technical lead for managing the deployment of cloud based tools such as Docker, GitHub, SoftLayer, New Relic, and Box.  Integrations advisor and administrator for the implementation of RightScale SaltStack, and OpenStack.

Director of Development, 2006 - 2013

Built a diverse technical team in support of entertainment production related systems.  Led the delivery and execution of projects in building media asset management systems, production tracking, post production systems, and web portals.  Provided guidance to architecture principles and help lead the implementation of standards.

 

·        Created business cases/use cases for new products and new product features.  Determined business and product release requirements.  Communicated specifications and requirements to applications teams.

·        Acted as a consultant and facilitator for gathering requirements for corporate and production IT.  Managed several projects at the same time in cooperation with vendors, contractors, off shore groups, and clients.

·        Redesigned a standalone single facility Film and Digital Dailies tracking system to be used as a centralized multi-facility system by over 7 locations across the US, Canada, and UK. Oversaw integrations of Telecine shot log formats including ALE/ATN/FLX/FTL.

·        Oversaw and contributed to the development of a transmission logging system for our Broadcast Operations group.  System included storing/managing channel lineup schedules, and issue management.

·        Designed and oversaw an asset verification system to protect outgoing assets to studios and productions that ensure that the content expected is delivered properly.  This also complied with MPAA audits.

·        Contributed to MPAA audits through the reporting and protecting of content assets.  Worked with Security teams and production IT on continuous compliance and preparation of MPAA audit.

·        Led the Sarbanes-Oxley Audits for our division of applications.  Worked closely with compliance team, other IT teams, and KPMG with documentation verification and audit reporting.

·        Assisted business groups with systems and data governance through policies, processes, and procedures and embedding these where possible within their respective systems.

·        Provided direction and mentoring to staff and developed them to understand the business as well as guiding them in the technologies used for solutions implementations.  Responsible for writing performance reviews and personal development plans for direct reports.

·        Managed a number of integrations, content transfer, and asset management projects for entertainment industry in collaboration with motion picture studios and streaming media providers. Designed an order workflow from studios to Technicolor, advised on metadata XML outputs tied to content for streaming providers, and developed integration for studio asset data to be interchanged with Technicolor’s asset system.

·        Worked closely with BI Team to streamline reporting and create a central portal for accessing multi-reporting systems to SSRS, QlikView, and Business Objects. Established the SSRS standards.

·        Managed a team of developers, analysts, project managers, and offshore teams in India and UK.   Additionally, worked with consultants and vendors through implementations.

·        Deployed Team Foundation Server as the configuration management system to maintain the integrity of products and systems from many development teams.  This also consolidated bug tracking, controlled change activity, and centralized code where possible. Additionally, embedded agile methods.

 

MEDIA SERVICES, Los Angeles, Ca 2004 – 2006

Director, Advanced Technology

Reporting to the CEO, led software engineering for the second largest entertainment payroll company in the world.  Products included film & TV budgeting, scheduling, database driven union labor guide, and payroll system.  Worked with the executive team on strategy, execution, and defining our products and their features.

 

·         Oversaw and designed a budgeting and scheduling software application within the “Showbiz” product line for film, television, and commercials.  In charge of maintaining the production accounting system and financial applications.

·         Defined product vision, strategy, and the roadmap to support company goals.  Determined business and product release requirements, defined product functionality, and participated in performance activities.

·         Contributed to the building of a time card application to calculate payroll for commercials, television, and motion pictures.  Includes calculation of union rules and residuals.

·         Coordinated beta testing of new products and features ensuring customer experience and satisfaction goals are met.   Served as a product expert and escalation point for technical and other product issues.

·         Built and managed a team of engineers, technical support, product managers, and analysts.
