Responsible for defining strategies to deliver value-driven technologies, Hybrid Cloud based business solutions, and drive revenue growth for the $1.2 billion Xerox DCS contract with the state of Texas.  Position entailed evaluating, recommending, defining and advocating enterprise business architecture models, standards and platforms to enable end-to-end business and IT transformations across complex environments.

IBM  -  Storage Area Network – Software Engineer - 5/2004 to 8/2008

Responsible for planning & executing Q.A. SAN testing on all (pre-G.A.) IBM pSeries hardware platforms.  Testing included all IBM SAN units as well as 3rd party hardware such as EMC & Hitachi.  All aspects of the SAN environment were tested from device drivers on the HBA to zoning of switches, cascading switches, creating arrays, masking luns, to the fibre channel protocol.  Managed communication between development teams both internal and external to IBM during the QA process.  Collected & presented status with projected completion dates to management.  Testing often included forensic examination from Fibre traces taken using a Finisar device to resolve complex problems discovered through our testing methodology.


IBM - Software Engineer – 11/2003 to 5/2004 – Ciber Inc.
Software Engineer testing IBM’s iSCSI Software Initiator under the AIX operating system. Responsibilities included low level forensic examination of SAN over TCP and code changes to resolve issues found during testing. Worked closely with other AIX and Cisco developers for the 9000 series MDS multilayer switches to recommend test plans and to resolve possible software and hardware issues between the two products.  Help IBM develop the first iSCSI device driver for the AIX operating system. 

IBM - Developer - 6/2003 to 11/2003 - Global Consultants Inc.
Responsible for programming new features and for defect resolution of Fast
Connect, IBM’s Common Internet File System (CIFS). This technology allows AIX
machines to act as a file and print server in a Microsoft network environment, similar to Samba. Use of CMVC, Retain (Anderson Tools), and dbx was required.

Job duties often encompassed complex forensic examination of customer core files.
In addition, worked on revamping testing procedures and automating improved quality
assurance standards and moved focus to functionality, regression and performance.
As a direct result, our department was able to locate problems more quickly in code
modifications and resolve defects on a more regimented schedule, resulting in a
substantial improvement to productivity.

IBM - Software Engineer - 1/1999 to 2/2003 – Eurosoft
Responsibilities included quality assurance testing of AIX; development of software
tools used by IBM’s entire Unix Product Test (UPT) department; and testing of
Linux and AIX, which over 100 personnel would implement.

Worked closely with AIX Development teams to resolve defects incurred
and to continue updating new feature testing methods. Managed a team of
programmers to port and automate over 10,000 test cases, some of which required
changes to source code for compliance to the 64-bit platform. This was
accomplished within 6 months, though originally earmarked for over 1 year.  IBM estimated the productivity increase saved the company over a million dollars in man hours alone.

 

IBM - Software Engineer – 8/1996 to 1/1999 – Mustang Technology
Responsible for programming new features and defect resolution for AIX Network
Install Manager (NIM). Responsibilities included working with management to
assess departmental needs, and formulating annual budgets for equipment
purchases. Purchasing agent for five departments within AIX development (Server
Division), including annual budgets of over a million dollars.

Lectured AIX classes on the Network Install Management feature to both IBM
employees and outside clients.


IPC Technologies – 4/1996 to 8/1996
Hardware Product Engineer - Austin, Texas
Responsible for all compatibility testing of the Affinity Server line of products to
function properly on Windows NT, Novell, Solaris, and SCO. Worked closely with
Microsoft’s hardware compatibility testing standards to ensure certification on each
product line.

Technical Support – Large Account Representative – Austin, Texas
Responsible for large account technical support issues, primarily responsible for
