: Consultant, Middleware Engineering
In
this role, I leverage established Middleware building blocks to help
support and grow Discover’s Banking, Card and Payments lines of businesses.
I also provide optimized Application/Middleware deployment solutions for
most distributed in-house and 3rd party applications. As part of the
“Build” organization I collaborate closely with “Plan” and “Run”
organization.
Project:
WebSphere6 to WebSphere8 migration of 150+ apps:
§
As a core member of Natural Work Group (NWG)
representing Midd Engg, collaborated with Enterprise Architecture and
Application Development for successful migration of 150+ consumer and
servicing apps from WebSphere6 to WebSphere8.
§
Since DFS is moving towards IaaS, working on moving
build-deploy to Chef Recipe.
§
Designed WebSphere cell topologies and reusable network
deployment patterns that conform to SOA.
§
Provided active consultation for Performance Tuning of
apps utilizing SOAP and RESTful services.
Project: Discover
Apple Pay; Discover Home Equity Loan (DHEL):
§
Discover Apple Pay was a highly complex and secured
setup to enable provisioning of Apple devices to allow Apple Pay. I
played a pivotal role in the build, automation, security and sizing of the
Middleware systems provisioned in the Cloud.
§
Provided technical consultation to correctly setup
Network VIPs, Firewalls, Load Balancers and Disaster Recovery zone. Led the
performance tuning effort of the Middleware components.
§
Active involvement in Security for Cloud, Application
Architecture and WebServices.
§
Setup crypto profiles and domains in the WebSphere
Datapower SOA XI52 appliance as a broker to allow external vendor to make
secured web services calls over the Internet across various Discover DMZ into
the WebSphere8 servicing cells.
Achievements: On
Sep 16th 2015, Discover Card successfully launched Apple Pay with iOS9.
Discover CIO, Business and Project Management team were all praise of my
handling of strict deadlines, collaborating with vendor and app teams,
providing critical thinking and solutions for the highly complex secured
setup.

: Unix Automation Lead Engineer
Working
under the HRBPO org, accountable for implementing required infrastructure,
quality assurance, managing upgrades and defining & monitoring service
levels. Also partnering with Development org, assisting in RFI (Request for
Information) and sales stages, implementation consulting, troubleshooting,
and client/third party audits/ reviews.
Project: Human
Resource Management Systems (HRMS/myHR)
§
Managed the successful implementations of HRMS and myHR
including Workforce & Workbrain on WebSphere 6, JBOSS, Solaris
10/Redhat 5.5.
§
This included Web Services Calls via Enterprise Service
Bus and Message Brokers to other Benefits application, Mainframe USS,
Siebel, PeopleSoft, MQ and DB2. These are multi-client environments for
clients such as BoFa, Cintas, Chubb, CIBC, Rockwell, Alcoa, Pepsico,
Marriott, Duke Energy etc.

Participated in bi-yearly disaster recover exercise to
meet client SLA. Provided 24x7 business systems support for HRBPO
applications that are highly available services. Coordinated technical
triage for business systems: plan, manage and deliver projects that follow
PMI and SDLC methodology.

Provided coaching and training to other teams and
individuals who do more basic and administrative tasks, and bringing new
team members up to speed.
Achievements:
Brought
the availability & performance of the HRMS system from 93% to above 98%
to meet client SLA. The clients include some Fortune 500 companies.
Delivered on-time a high quality Workbrain implementation for HR BPO’s
biggest client BofA that was much applauded by Client Delivery Managers.
Also participated in a successful tertiary DR site for BoFa. Completed a
highly successful Workforce implementation for the client Chubb. A new
client, CIBC, was so impressed by a very smooth, custom, Internet facing
demo of Workforce that they signed a new contract with HR BPO.

: Web Administrator
Performed
the role of Web Administrator on the Architecture and Systems Management
team. Accountable for the development, deployment, support and maintenance
of the corporate web infrastructure at Schneider. This includes management,
scalability, availability, cost, ease-of-use, and integrity for the web
environment in a secured fashion.
Project: Lawson
Schneider Online Express & Hyperion Upgrade (Internal Finance website)

Involved in the successful migration of Lawson to AIX
OS. Set up Lawson Internet Object Services on WebSphere 5.1. Setup SSL/SSH
tunnels for secured connectivity between web and application server.
§
Setup Microsoft Add-ins for access into Lawson. Enabled
end-to–end SSL traffic from MS Excel with traffic going over HTTPS to
Thawte Certificate enabled HTTP Web Server. Exchanged Key tokens to enable
SSL between Web Server and WebSphere Plugin. Finally, SSL-enabled the WAS
servlet container. RMI calls from WAS were channeled via SSH tunnels in DMZ
to backend IOS App Server.

Setup Security for Authentication and Authorization
using RSA Cleartrust.
§
Participated in a disaster recovery exercise for the
entire Lawson System and Applications.
§
Responsible for the setup of Hyperion and Essbase on
WebSphere 5.1. Setup iPlanet LDAP authentication. Worked on Hyperion
upgrade to 9.x version with integration into Active Directory.
§
Performed the role of Project Manager to ensure timely
completion of the project within resource and budget constraints. Acted as
the liaison between business, DBA, UNIX and Network resources.
Achievements:
Won
a certificate of recognition from the Director of Hosting Services for the
highly successful migration of Lawson to AIX platform.

Served as Tech Lead
on a team of 6 developers to develop a Variable Annuity Quoting Engine.
Designed and
deployed EJB based salable quoting engine hosted on iAS, message driven
EJBs deployed on IBM WebSphere receiving asynchronous Enterprise XML
Messaging through MQ Series.
Created detailed functional
requirements, use cases, sequence, DFD, activity and interaction diagrams
using Rational Rose (UML) for the quoting engine.

As
a Java Developer on a team of 5, was involved in the complete development
of GEFA AutoWarranty Services’ (AWS) (Lakewood, CO) first ever eCommerce
website.
Responsibility
included designing, developing and maintaining reusable Java components
using Java Design Patterns.
Developed
efficient XML based Internet Message Transfer to improve B2B linking of AWS
website with its partner website.
