Senior member of Windows Team responsible for consilidated operations in two datacenters

- Drove the adoption of virtualization using VMware ESX. Inherited 2 node ESX implementation used for test / development and pushed it to grow to hundreds of hosts and thousands of guests supporting some of the most critical servers and services in the enterprise.- Managed and implemented HP Blades Servers with VirtualConnect technology, IBM HS series blades and standalone HP and IBM Servers.- Implemented and managed Microsoft Windows clustering, to include consolidated windows file clusters, SQL 2000, SQL 2005 and cluster aware applications. Senior Engineer contracted to support US, Army Headquarters

- Engineering Team Lead for Active Directory, Exchange, DNS, and WINS for 10,000 node Headquarters Department of the Army Enterprise Network.- Lead engineer on project to implement over 100 HP Blade Servers to replace legacy equipment and reduce footprint of server farm. Includes deployment of HP GBE2 switches on the Pentagon backbone, installation of all hardware, and follow on management of all Blade Server resources.- Working on team responsible for the movement of 400 plus servers from current server rooms to new renovated server rooms in the Pentagon. This includes the engineering of the LAN, physical cabling, and rack layout. Core responsibilities include the migration of Exchange, DHCP, Cluster Servers, HP XP1024 SAN and DNS.- Engineering team lead for the development of a new Windows 2003 Active Directory Forest/Domain with Exchange 2003.- Supported VMware ESX 2 Farm

Managed six person network engineering team that provided IT network support to the Office of The Surgeon General (OTSG) for the U.S. Army.

- Designed, implemented and supported end to end Cisco network to include Cisco Routers (7500s, 7200s, 4500s, 3800s, 2800s, and 1600s), Cisco Switches (6500s, 3500s, 2900s) / Firewalls (PIX 525s, PIX515E / VPNs (3030), Cisco Wireless Access Points (AP350s and AP1200s), and Bluecoat Proxy devices.- Alternative Information Management Officer for OTSG.- Maintained updated DoD Network Accreditation package for OTSG for submission to U.S. Army.- Implemented and administered Microsoft SMS Architecture which provides upkeep of all Windows 2000 and Windows XP client systems on the network in accordance with Army standards, including upgrade from SMS 2.0 to SMS 2003. This includes custom SMS packages for the installation of Windows 2000 Service Pack 3, Internet Explorer 6, and Microsoft Office XP.- Designed and supported Continuity of Operations (COOP) Plan activities specifically designed to allow reactivation of all high priority network functions within a short timeframe after a major disaster.- Network Administration (Windows NT/2000 / Microsoft Exchange).- Implementation and administration of Network Appliance NetApp Filers to including the use of the NetApp SnapMirror technology and SnapManager for Exchange.- Responsible for all aspects of the LAN and WAN to include Active Directory, E-Mail, routing, Switching, Firewall, DHCP, SQL, managed Antivirus, and security.- Implement and support Windows 2003 Terminal Server solution controlled via group policies.- Provide support for migration of OTSG from Windows NT 4.0 and Exchange 5.5 to Windows 2003 Active Directory and Exchange 2003.- Support of WAN links including PRI RAS, PPP, VPN, ATM and DS3 connections.- Administration of 30 HP Servers.
