As
the Senior Storage Management Group Lead I am responsible
for providing oversight and management of the enterprise storage
infrastructure that is inclusive high performance EMC and NetApp storage
systems. I continually perform high level and complex advisory
consulting work as the lead authority in storage management. I am responsible
for coordinating with Operations and Program management on a regular basis to
define business objectives to generate and implement plans to meet those
objectives. I have expanded my knowledge in leading high performing
teams by providing leadership and then management.

Booz Allen Hamilton 08/12 – 2/13
As
an Associate and cloud architect within the Cyber Technologies group I
specialize in cloud enterprise and storage solutions. During a data center
modernization effort as the Storage solutions architect on the NHLBI contract
I wrote the Storage design plan to support NHLBI. We incorporated the DDN WOS
to support their CIF/NFS storage needs across the campus and utilized the DDN
Grid Scaler to support the high I/O requirements. A application migration
required the design of a storage platform that could support multiple virtual
machines as well, I selected the VNX 5300 based on its unified platform and
EMC FAST storage, this system additionally utilized EMC recovery point to a
remote location to provide disaster recovery capabilities. When presenting
this solution to the customer it was accepted.
During
this time I introduced 3 Cloud storage gateways for evaluation and analysis
to provide both analytical and business view’s to provide our Business
Development group with options for our customers. All 3 proved to be a
successful storage growth mitigation, backup and recovery, and Cloud DR
options. I provide a successful demonstration environment by rapidly
installing each cloud storage gateway into an existing virtualized platform
and connected them to an Amazon AWS S3 bucket for cloud data storage. By
actually deploying the cloud storage gateways and capitalizing on their
various features I was able to provide a real time view into the advantages
the customers would gain with an effective cloud data storage solution. Below
are the CSG’s that were evaluated.
· Riverbed Whitewater
· Panzura Quicksilver
· TwinStrata Cloud Array
CSC 04/11- 07/12
As
the Chief Cloud Architect for the CSC NPS/ITIS Trusted Cloud team architected
and deployed Cloud proof of concepts and demonstration platforms for Email as
a service (EaaS) and Work Place as a Service (WPaaS) that utilized Cloud
Broker and Orchestration layers to take the customer experience to a new
functional level. Performed evaluations of cloud broker and orchestration
technologies to ensure that the tenants of cloud are defined and met, this
led to multiple customer presentations and successfully delivered cloud
solutions. Delivered presentations of Cloud capabilities and in-depth
explanations of Cloud based services. Evaluated several vendor storage
products to provide an unbiased and cost effective set of solution offerings
while maintaining the ability to bring the products together under a single
storage virtualization layer to improve manageability, scalability, and
prevent vendor lock in.

the Senior Principal Consultant /Virtualization Architect for the Solutions
Design Center, architected, and wrote the complete design for a fully
virtualized platform. This environment capitalized on all the functionality
VMware 4.1 offers to support a highly available and selectively Fault
tolerant application support. Designed complete backend supporting systems
for virtualized platform to be classified as a High Performance compute (HPC)
solution to include capitalization on Infiniband technologies and high
performance Storage technologies. Incorporated SSD (Solid State Disk) and
optimized flash accelerators into the solution to remove most disk latencies.

Quadramed Corp, 10/08 to 10/09
Senior
Information Technology Engineer: As the lead engineer completely redesigned
existing EMC SAN environment supporting 3 clustered VMware environments and
multiple singularly attached servers to provide full fabric redundancy. The
infrastructure initially consisted of 3 separate EMC SANs and finished with
10 VMware ESX servers in 1 and 7 ESX servers in another cluster plus
additional standalone servers. This redesign consisted of upgrading the
existing CX700 and CX3-20c and replacing the CX-300. The upgrade to the
CX-700 and CX-20c was performed by combining the assets with new equipment
and creating a CX4-240. By taking an outage this was able to be performed
mostly by Storage vMotion. The Data that was not from the VMware environment
was then moved at the block level. The replacement of the CX-300 was
completed the same way were all the VM’s were moved via storage vMotion and
the servers that were directly attached had their data directly moved via
block replication. Once completely configured all 17 ESX servers no errors
were reported by the systems for several months (These clusters supported
over 280 virtual servers). Configured and promoted to production an
additional VMware cluster utilizing Dell 3000i ISCSI storage. Installed configured
and delivered a proof of concept of OPENTS Panorama. Took ownership,
developed, and deployed to production a windows WSUS server supporting all
infrastructure workstations and laptops. Had ownership of the VOIP network
and worked on developing performance enhancements and stability. Working with
and monitoring several CISCO 6509 routers supporting the corporate
infrastructure.

Drug Enforcement Administration 04/01 to 09/08
Senior
Enterprise Engineer: Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA); On the DEA Web
Infrastructure project, served as a Senior Enterprise Engineer and Enterprise
Administrator responsible for researching, defining and implementing the
infrastructure architectures and its day to day operations. Authored
architectural methodologies and followed them through to
implementation. While implementing this architecture I was tasked with
maintaining FISMA compliance while also maintaining the collateral duty of
Enterprise Systems Administrator for the existing 70 Windows 2000 & 2003
and HPUX Servers hosting over 300 web sites. Utilized IT-Guru to troubleshoot
and resolve application and database response issues by performing exhaustive
packet analysis. Worked with customers on application, database server,
network implementations and consolidations, much of this was completed by the
use of server virtualization. By bringing server virtualization to the web
architecture I provided the customer with rapid provisioning and system
stabilization to meet the demanding requirements of the DEA. Researched,
designed, acquired, built, configured, tested, and brought to operational
efficiency the entire COOP site for the Web Architecture. I was known as the
“Go to Guy” for all the technical and architectural aspects of the Web
Architecture as well as customer support requests and inquiries.
