DESCRIPTIONS
BURLINGTON NORTHERN RAILROAD: I worked for the railroad for about 11 years as a track welder,
welding broken railroad track to prevent train derailments. I then sold
my job to return to college. NEBRASKA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION: I worked here for 13 years in 3 different departments; Roadway Design,
Right of Way Designer, and Right of Way Negotiator/Buyer. I started out
as a drafter designing roadway for new highway projects using auto cad. I then moved to the right of way department as a right of way
designer, designing new right of way for highway projects using auto cad and
cogo works. I then moved to the right of way negotiation department. My
responsibilities were to get the property appraisals from the appraiser, do
the paper work and send that and the offer to each landowner, then make
appointments with them to meet and discuss their issues if they have any,
then negotiate with them to get them to sign the paperwork. Before I
meet with the landowners I would do title research at the courthouse to make
sure our paperwork is up to date and if not find the new owners of the
property. XCEL ENERGY: I have been with xcel since February 2005 to February 2013, designing
electrical transmission & distribution for Colorado using GIS SMALLWORLD
and AUTO CAD 2010 as well as EXPERT DESIGNER. My responsibilities include map
corrections, working with outage management on switching procedures load
changes, work orders, using oms top val report to correct unconnected
customers and helping the analysts with final posting. I’ve also done many
special projects and spent about 4 months in the mountain division updating
their plat books. SUMMARY I am a very hard worker and fast learner, I am always on time and
rarely take off work . I also have very good communication and problem
solving skills. I think I would be a great benefit to your company |
