B&B Appraisal - September 1993 to August 1994.  Secretarial position assisting four appraisers with the preparation of their appraisal reports, including processing of incoming orders, looking up property taxes for current year, locating property on subdivision and plat maps, looking up parcel numbers and copying reports.  Also did commercial research consisting of prior sales of like properties, confirming ownership and getting owner phone numbers, calling realtors for comparable sales, and checking warranty deeds.  Was responsible for updating the computer software and appraisal templates.  Confirmed sales with Realtors and property owners.  Did routine typing, filing and receptionist duties.

 

Muni Financial Services, Inc. (MFS) - March 1989 to November 1992.  Started as the receptionist/secretary with duties consisting of typing, filing and mailing of contracts and proposals.  Was responsible for all telephone support, accounts receivable/payable and miscellaneous data entry.  Promoted to office administrator/secretary with added responsibilities including the drafting and proofing of correspondence and the supervision of one part-time receptionist.  I also typed the company software manual and assisted in the preparation of different company sponsored workshops.  In May 1990, I was promoted to the position of Associate for Assessment Administration.  In this capacity I drafter and typed correspondence, prepared Release of Liens, monitored delinquent property tax bills, prepared prepayment quotes for special district pre-payments, drafter and prepared annual reports, answered property owner questions and prepared bond call notices.

 

United States Navy - October 1981 to June 1988.  Barber’s Point, Hawaii.  Typed daily reports and evaluation forms, and did daily routine filing and typing.  Also was the “Sponsor Coordinator” of the command.  I mailed information about the Command and Hawaii to all incoming personnel and located individuals with similar backgrounds to show new arrivals around.

 

Served in the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations (Strategic Plans, Policies and Operations) OP-06C.  I was the staff typist.  I provided typing and telephone support for the senior captains and admirals for the organization.  I also maintained a classified serial log, maintained files from the National Security Council, worked with the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and reorganized the filing system to help with the daily operations of the office.

 

Worked in the Office of the Chief of Legislative Affairs.  In this capacity I maintained a serial log on all outgoing correspondence, maintained a log on all House and Senate bills turned into law, typed form letters and did daily routine filing.  I performed legislative research to assist the Navy in its legislation.  I also acted as a courier, picking up and delivering correspondence to difference offices such as the Office of Management and Budget and various House and Senate offices.

 

I am proficient in the use of Wordperfect, Microsoft Word, Excel, Quatro, Lotus, Dbase, PowerPoint along with a variety of other software used in offices on a daily basis.  I have used CAD and GIS software in the past along with several specialized softwares.  I can type 74 words per minute, can use a Dictaphone along with other typical office equipment.
