Washington State Department of Transportation - Roadway Data Office, Tumwater, WA

The GIS & Roadway Data office supports the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) community within WSDOT by

providing a full suite of GIS and Roadway Data products and services that are used throughout the agency for

project planning, budget development, programming, and more.

GIS Technician, 1/2013 – 9/2013

Worked alongside GIS specialists creating and editing geospatial data and adding attributes

used to identify and build county routes into a Linear Referencing System (LRS). Used models

constructed in ArcGIS to build routes and perform QA/QC on those routes.

City of Olympia – Information Technology Services, Olympia, WA

The Information Technology Services line of business (IT Services) enables the City to better carry out its mission and

serve its citizens.

GIS/CAD Intern, 10/2012 – 1/2013

Worked on the City of Olympia’s project to consolidate and centralize all of its spatial data into

centralized data stores into the City’s main GIS. Managed and processed data in several

different spatial data formats including CAD, GIS, and paper schematics to ready it for inclusion

into the central data stores. Worked alongside CAD and GIS specialists while performing routine

to moderately complex geo-processing functions, including input, editing, manipulation,

management, analysis and output of spatial and tabular data sets within ESRI’s ArcGIS software.

Collected the data from a variety of archived sources including engineering construction

diagrams for inclusion with spatial data.

Worked alongside GIS specialists creating and editing geospatial data for Pacific County, WA for

inclusion into a complete statewide roadway data layer. Research county and city

Obtained and assembled data to complete architectural drawings, visiting job sites to compile

measurements as necessary. Produced design and drawing plans using DataCAD and SketchUp

Pro software. Utilized DataCAD software to prepare interior room layouts for commercial

buildings and residential homes. Worked alongside architects to prepare drawing plans, permit

application documents, contracts and technical reports for company projects.
