- US Highway 36 Design Build Project March 2012 to August 2013- Denver to Boulder, CO
Project role: Field Project Manager
A multi-million dollar design build construction project including the construction of new bridges and widening of
existing bridges, the addition of new lanes, retaining walls, sign structures and detention ponds. Coordinated
geotechnical drilling, traffic control, surveying and field locating of borings, and utility locating with utility meets.
Supervised and managed up to three drilling crews with loggers at once for the geotechnical investigation for the
new structures on the project. Worked together with Ames Construction and HDR Engineering, to coordinate
drilling operations and to facilitate permitting and property access.
- Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station, South Portal Road Stabilization - Colorado Springs, CO
A geotechnical stability study of an existing roadway built on top of a landslide. Assisted with the use of
a seismograph and geophones to examine the depth of bedrock and the thickness of slide overburden
to make suggestions on stabilizing the roadway to prevent further sliding form occurring. Helped prepare
final report to the client including drafting figures. Served as the inspector during construction of a
shotcrete retaining wall reinforced with h-piles and soil nails to stabilize the roadway and slope.
-Brush Hollow Reservoir - Penrose, CO
A geotechnical feasibility study to increase reservoir storage capacity. Obtained clearance from the state
Division of Wildlife to perform field exploration. Logged subsurface conditions and provided direction
to drillers on specific locations to drill/core and where to obtain samples for geotechnical laboratory
testing. Supervised hydraulic Packer permeability testing in the field. Assisted in the gathering of
subsurface data utilizing a seismograph and geophones. Drafted numerous figures for the final report
summarizing the findings during the field investigation.
-Arabella Solar Farm, Santa Rosa, NM
Performed surveys to obtain data on migratory bird species, nesting birds, raptors, flora, and potential
presence of endangered species as required by state fish and game authorities before any construction can
occur. Hiked across challenging terrain to predetermined observation points utilizing GPS where data
was collected.
-Horse Hollow Transmission Line, Comfort to Abilene, TX
Supervised drilling crews on predetermined locations across challenging "Hill Country" terrain for power
transmission towers and instructed crews on how to obtain soil or rock core samples for laboratory testing
in challenging Karst topography . Logged and classified rock and soil samples. Worked together with
Florida Power and Light/Nextera to obtain access to properties where geotechnical holes could not be
drilled in the initial stages of drilling.
-Sundance Waterline, Black Forest to Colorado Springs, CO
Coordinated all field work for a geotechnical investigation, including drilling borings and logging
samples for a waterline, water wells and water treatment facilities. Coordinated access to multiple
properties for drilling activities. Also conducted a raptor survey including a western burrowing owl
survey, wetland analysis and preble's meadow jumping mouse survey for environmental permitting with
various government agencies.
-South Platte Wind Farm, Atwood, CO
Conducted an initial desktop analysis to assess the potential presence of threatened or endangered species,
cultural resources and wetlands on a proposed wind farm site and delivered a report to our client
summarizing our findings. Conducted a field reconnaissance including a cultural resources analysis, bird
survey, raptor survey, wetland analysis and bat habitat assessment. Delivered a report to our client
summarizing our finding of our field investigation for environmental permitting with various government
