EXPERIENCE
CAD\GIS Archivist (Contractor) July 2012-Present
Info Tech Innovations\Engineering Design Branch for Department of Public Works Fort Campbell, KY
Salary: $37,000; 40 hours/week
Supervisor: Betty Tucker- DPW Contract Management (270) 798-1279

I act as an Archival Technician on a project by project basis; I am my own project manager as I coordinate my work load on a daily
basis in order to satisfy my Monthly Contracted Responsibilities below with minimal supervision. I have to use critical thinking,
decision making and problem solving as well as close attention to details daily in order to provide the best support to the Department
of Defense (DOD).
DRAWING REQUESTS:
· Produce hardcopy and\or digital files related to the requested DPW Work orders, O & M, Space Utilization and Army
Sustainment, Restoration and Modernization (SRM) Contracts.
OPERATION & MAINTENANCE MANUAL DELIVERABLES:
· Submit Project Operation & Maintenance Manuals ‘O&M’s” to library for storage.
ORGANIZE & ARCHIVE HARD COPY DRAWING LIBRARY:
· From scratch I created and developed a systematic approach to maintain, organize and archive Historical drawing files
starting from the 1940’s and up by electronically scanning and cataloguing any missing sheets onto the DoD SharePoint
Archived or Working server.
· I created and utilize a running MS Excel Archived Drawing Index listing where the Project sheets are located on the server
and where they are filed in our vault cabinets. This streamlines the process of elimination to which Project sets\sheets have
been scanned and what hasn’t. Prior to my arrival, there was not any order or filing system because everything was
previously moved from a different vault location.
· I also create html indexes for each project folder with a supported application created by DPW called
“Project_Index_Creator” as well as update the sheets information in the Archived Drawing Index spreadsheet as to where the
new project folder will be on server and the filed vault cabinet location.
· I utilize another proprietary application created by DPW called “DDDB_Project_Entry_App”, in order to create new database
entries for missing project’s. All the information has to correspond with the Archived Drawing Index spreadsheet in order for
100% accuracy of Historical Archiving and search ability.
· I utilize MS Notepad to open HTML indexes and update file extensions and drawing file paths after a project folder has been
moved and\or drawing files were converted to another file type.
· The HTML indexes and Access SQL database entries I Add/modify/delete and update for each coinciding project are easily
accessible using MS Access database and DOD Intranet Building plan search engines by all authorized personnel.
DATABASE MAINTENANCE:
· While I am searching for drawing requests I usually stumble upon incorrect or non-existent Project files, at which time I
target that project and\or specific Building and utilize the process of elimination to locate disks and\or any associated files on
the DOD SharePoint server and do an overhaul on fixing every Project associated to it.
· When Archiving I will pull the 1940’s- 1980’s drawing sets and Demolished Facilities project folders off of the DOD
SharePoint server and upload onto the Archived server, then batch convert all image and\or Micro station extension files to a
“pdf” for various reasons such as to compress over sized file, image correcting\updating and use by all other personnel as it is
the only document file type most are capable of viewing due to software licensing limitations.
· I integrate and maintain accuracy of all Adobe, GIS, CAD & Micro Station products on the DOD SharePoint by utilizing a
relational management software with Oracle database serving entities “Java & C++” to Add/modify/delete and update
information contained in the existing MS Access Digital Drawing Database and the existing Engineering server to include
existing and\or newly developed PDF, CAD and\or Micro station Military Installation Construction as well as Demolished
Facilities.
· I utilize another proprietary application created by DPW called “DDDB_Project_Entry_App”, in order to create new database
entries for missing project’s.
· I also coordinate with technical support personnel in order to enhance DOD developed Applications\Software input and
accuracy.
· When I receive and review new contract submittals, deliverables, etc from other agencies I conduct pre-project and postproject
product review of the files then upload onto DOD SharePoint server. Plans include but not limited to; Submittals,
Specs, Construction Reviews, As-built facility drawings, "tif, bmp, pdf, cal, cit" image files as well as contracting
information.
· I also have full permissions to make updates or changes to all folders in our network server if and when needed in order to restructure
the system to eliminate duplicated files.
Key Accomplishments:
· Produce more than 55% of my contracted responsibilities each month.
· Providing the Department of Defense DOD and its agencies efficient and timely work order requests and a standardized
database.
· Assisting other Government and Contractor Professionals in solving project-related problems such as coordinating with
technical support personnel when problems arise within systems and help upgrade specialized DPW application input and
accuracy.
· Learned and utilized the Contractor Manpower Reporting App (CMR) so my specific Contract data was entered correct to
ensure the Performance-based service contracting (PBSC) personnel would be able to provide funds and exercise option
years in addition to base bid.
Knowledge, Skill, Ability- KSA:
Software Utilized: IrfanView "tif, bmp image", Micro station V81, MS DOS, MS Notepad, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS
PowerPoint, Arc Map 10 “GIS”, (SQL) for Visual Basic Applications (VBA) “Project_Index_Creator (html) &
DDDB_Project_Entry_App, “MS Access”, Java, JavaScript C++ and Adobe "pdf"
· MS Notepad, Java and Java Script C++ is utilized when I am creating an HTML drawing index files with a proprietary
application created by DPW called “Project_Index_Creator”. It also gives me the ability to open the html file with MS
Notepad to make corrections and updates to the embedded codes in order to re-connected broken links on the files or edit
project file text. I also utilize Java script as a tool to read, copy, paste and manipulate information in any PDF & HTML file.
· Access (SQL) is used by running searches for specific data and being able to go directly to the linked files on server from
MS Access. I am able to make changes in every record that supports the system files; update, delete or re-link.
· I also utilize an application create by DPW for inputting new project files into the database called
“DDDB_Project_Entry_App” where I input all the Military Installation Projects information by uploading project location
links to the project folder, upload HTML index as well as the ability to create a new HTML index and then link individual
floor plans to all associated buildings within the project.
· I utilize MS Notepad to Add/modify/delete and update information contained in the HTML index, such as the file paths
and\or file extensions after file conversions are made.
· Utilize Arc Map 10 “GIS” to search Facilities and\or plot Site development and\or Military Infrastructure distribution
information.
· Irfan View is an image software I utilize in order to batch convert any image or Micro Station extension file such as “tif,
bmp, cal and cit” that was previously uploaded into an Adobe “pdf” format.
· I utilize MS Word, MS Power Point, MS Excel and Adobe for various projects, information recordkeeping, monthly
contracted logs and reports as well as project file management.
· I utilize MS Outlook to communicate with other personnel regarding missing files, folders, information, etc. MS Outlook is
also for receiving drawing requests as well as attaching file correspondences. I also scan to email and maintain professional
communication per responsibilities of Contract.

When I would prepare a design myself I would to reference the CAD city and utility maps into GIS maps then utilize design standards
and all oracle relational mapping software tools when creating fiber optic layouts from each lot address to distribution runs into the
central Hub site for each area and entered cable splicing information. In some cases I would design the City layout in only Auto Cad
