OBJECTIVE

I am currently employed by CenturyLink as an OSP field engineer. I have reached a point in my career where I would like to be employed in a position where I can travel and experience new and different cultures and occupational opportunities.

 

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

·              Outside plant (OSP) design engineer for several wire centers encompassing about 2,500 square miles.

·              Design maintenance and rehab jobs for aerial, underground and buried copper and fiber OSP.

·              Design FTTN, FTTP and FTTC jobs for various fiber deployments.

o       FTTN included both Adtran and Calix DSLAM’s with 3M SAI’s.

o       FTTC used primarily Ciena products.

·              Design OSP infrastructure relocations for multiple road agencies.

·              Design all projects with consideration given to growth potential for correct OSP sizing.

·              Implement cost analysis comparisons to achieve most cost effective placement on projects.

·              Design cable placing jobs for business and residential developments.

·              Manage projects from conception to completion.

·              Subject matter expert and trainer for a variety of telecomm related products and services.

·              Working knowledge of DS1’s, DS3’s, ADSL, VDSL, PRI trunks, POTS, PBX systems.

·              Knowledgeable and experienced with right-of-way and easement issues.

·              Relaxed in working under tight time constraints.

 

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

·              Planned and designed 16 mile fiber backbone for three cell towers and six serving area interfaces.  Project finished $450,000 under estimates and ahead of schedule.

·              Planned and designed 9 mile fiber backbone for one cell tower and four serving area interfaces.  Project completed $350,000 under estimates and on schedule.

·              Designed multiple two to eight mile fiber backbone jobs for lateral FTTN and FTTC projects.

·              Designed numerous FTTN jobs off fiber backbone routes.

·              Worked to establish and prove GPON viability in a rural community.  Project was approved for design.

·              Consistently accomplish tasks under budget and ahead of schedule.

 

SKILLS

Advanced level experience with a wide variety of telecommunications and CenturyLink specific computer programs that include; TIRKS, Bidmaster, Fireworks, OSP-FM, Forte, LFAC’s.

Beginner level experience with Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint and Word.
