          HiCap Engineer. Worked as part of team to deliver T-1, DS-1, DS-3, TLS and other services to customers in fast-paced environment.  Team led the state in on time service orders.   Submitted all EWOs in ICGS in applicable central offices.

          BAU Network design engineer.  Responsible for engineering functions within assigned central offices.  Responsibilities included new growth, FTTP, field requests, new buried developments, and custom work orders generated by customers in the private, government and business sectors.

          Highway engineer represented Verizon on numerous state and local highway and bridge projects.  Projects ranged from $50K – $1.2M. Responsible for creating budget and cost management.  Worked with state and county engineers on road and bridge designs and revisions.  Saved the company in excess of $300K on one Monmouth county project alone by requesting contractor use vibratory drilling method instead of conventional pile driving methods.  Method saved Verizon the cost of relocating its facilities. 

          Designed fiber network for the Freehold Regional School District and the Keyport school system to provide TLS circuits to all schools in their system.  Worked with all vendors and contractors to provide service into all buildings.  Provided power point presentations to school administration to help them understand impact and costs involved.

          Worked on the JCP&L power upgrade project in Toms River to the Seaside Heights Borough.   Took over project from prior peer.  Took leadership initiative to identify prior mistakes by both Verizon and JCP&L that were costing the company money.  All future jobs went through a stricter planning and engineering review.  Proper billing was applied for cost reimbursement.  .

          Scheduling Engineer, Tracked pending and completed jobs with the construction forces to verify completion and roadblocks of engineering work orders.  Responsible for cable and material orders and tracking receipt.  Organized and orchestrated monthly scheduling meeting with construction area manager and local managers.

             

Construction Supervisor, NY, NY Jan 2000- December 2003

          Supervised a team of 22 to 25 technicians to complete engineering work orders within budget and time parameters.

          Acting Area Operations Manager

          Lead a hand picked team of 12 technicians into Ground Zero NYC to restore damages from the terrorist act of September 11, 2001.  Worked hand in hand with all government and private organizations to restore vital communication services to government, businesses, and residential customers throughout the downtown area. 

          Implemented and operated a training program for new hires and transferred technicians from different skills to reduce customer outages caused by human error.  Program helped increase productivity by 10% with no additional cost incurred by company.

 

Maintenance Supervisor, NY, NY January 1997- December 2000

          Managed a team of technicians that ranged from 24 to 32 at given times.  Compiled and documented all proper documentation involved with the operation of personnel.

          Implemented a service improvement program by analysis of cable reports to identify trouble locations within the Verizon outside plant.  By identifying and dispatching a team to repair these troubles, a 16% reduction in service outages resulted.

          Had the lowest amount of grievances as a field supervisor under my director.

          Chairperson of the Joint Union Management Safety Committee.   Meetings were attended by directors, area managers, union delegates, and local supervisors.  Committee worked in unison with union and management to quell union animosity in strong union environment, resulting in a more cohesive working environment and resulting in greater productivity and less grievance proceedings.
