Experience: 

·         11/2014- Present: Lead Planning Engineer. Verizon Service Delivery and Assurance. Designing work orders to provide Transparent LAN Service, VzON, DS3, and other fiber based high speed data offerings to Verizon's customers.

·         12/2002 – 10/2014:  Network Engineer / Outside Plant Planner– Verizon Network Engineering.  Involved with the FTTP build since its inception, both as planner and engineer, in New York and Florida . Designed world’s first MDU FTTP deployment. Oversaw the Florida Coastal FTTP engineering group in Clearwater Florida. Successfully completed the Alpha IV program, 6/13/2003.  Over the course of the past nine years, I have earned five departmental recognition awards, two vice presidential commendations, and been named a Verizon Excellence Awards finalist

·         12/2001 – 12/2002:   Planning Engineer – Verizon Manhattan 9/11 Restoration Project. One of a very small group who planned the permanent solutions for all of the buildings served out of the West St Central Office, where facilities were damaged or destroyed in the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001.Designed much of the new telecommunications network in lower Manhattan after the World Trade Center disaster on 9/11/01. Designed the new telecommunications system for the American Stock Exchange, among many others. I have planned and coordinated large jobs at Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase, Lehman Brothers, American Express, Deutsche Bank, Citicorp, the New York Stock Exchange, and Federal Courthouses, the Mayor's Office and literally countless other companies and agencies. Helped design the new conduit system being built in lower Manhattan . Designed Digital Loop Carrier installations at dozens of sites. Dealt closely with customers, Verizon engineering and construction forces, and contractors. Received Departmental Recognition Award for individual contributions to the project. Our group was a Verizon Excellence Awards finalist.

 

·         1996 – 2001:   NYNEX, Bell Atlantic , Verizon. Outside Plant Planning Engineer.       I pioneered the deployment of HDSL T1s off of Litespan on Long Island .
I have successfully deployed over 1000 T1, T3, OC-3, OC-12 and OC-48 circuits redundant communications systems, and SONET rings for customers ranging from school districts to Fortune 500 corporations to the FAA.
I have worked with just about every type of multiplexer and digital loop carrier system that has ever been built.
Special Recognition Award June 2000,Vice-Presidential Commendation 2001 for saving the company over two million dollars through increased efficiency in redeploying existing circuit packs rather than purchasing new ones.
I was responsible for ensuring that there are adequate facilities in every terminal in the Lynbrook, Freeport , and Mid-Nassau Central Office districts. I was also responsible for providing T1, T-3, and other HiCap services, private data networks, Digital Subscriber Lines, and SONET rings.

 

·         9/1/90 - 4/1/96 New York Telephone Cable Splicing technician. I was lead man on several large rehab and feeder jobs. I was part of the Fiber to the Curb Pilot Program in the Bronx , and was instrumental in the Tratman Avenue frame replacement.
I followed work prints and completed jobs including feeder relief, rehab, re-arrangements, and clearing troubles.
I have extensive experience with copper and fiber splicing, underground, aerial, buried, and block cable, splicing and recon, inside wiring, cable testing, and central office equipment. Trained in MACS 3000 and RayNet LOC-2. Earned Master of Science in Telecommunications at night while working days.
