Job Experience –

Tesinc, LLC

(813) 623-1233 - Tampa, FL

Contract: AT&T, Verizon, Crown Castle

Position: OSP Engineer, 2/12 – current

AT&T (Lightgig Project) –

I built Tesinc’s engineering department from the ground up for the start of AT&T’s rollout of its Lightgig projects in Austin, Houston, and San Antonio. I created the design methods, spread sheets and work flow organization between the fielding and drafting departments. I also helped create fielding standards and how information was to be delivered to engineers and drafters. Normal design duties included research using AT&T’s OptiNT system for distribution layouts and LFACs for living unit services.

Verizon –

The main project I worked on was a pole vacate project. I created work orders that removed copper plant from non-Verizon poles and then designed underground services to existing customers fed from those aerial cables. I researched and fielded routes, designed drawings for drafters, permitted underground work, CAS coded work orders, and verified redlines.

I also performed several BAU functions, such as fix it tickets, facility relocations, and service orders.

Crown Castle –

The project I worked on for Crown Castle was designing routes for fiber cable going to micro-towers in southern Florida. I fielded and permited routes given by a planner and made adjustments to reduce costs or construction.

Cendera/Fujitsu

(972) 812-5000 - Upland, CA

Contract: Verizon, Southern California

Position: Right of Way Manager, 8/05 – 11/06

I was brought on to manage the permitting process for all the FiOS builds coming from Cendera. Deadlines were tight and we were pushing out 16 work orders a week with each work order averaging 350 households.

As a Right of Way Manager, I was responsible for obtain all necessary encroachment permits with city, state and county agencies. Delegated and managed workloads among 5 field engineers, 3 CAD drafters and a Traffic Control department. I also conducted training classes with OSP Engineers upwards to 40 at a time which introduced how to field for specific city permits, CAD standards, and standards for underground designs.

Two Roads Professional Services/Wellsco, Inc

(714) 901-3804 – Huntington Beach, CA / (870) 236-1080 Paragould, AR

Contract: Verizon, Santa Monica

Position: NOOF Engineer / OSP Engineer, 5/07 – 11/10

I was an OSP engineer designated to Near-Out-of-Franchise projects. I mainly worked in the AT&T area, pricing and designing fiber routes for Verizon customers. Some of these routes were single feed, diverse feed or loops. Pricing included preliminary field studies and cost estimations. Engineering included construction design, acquisition of encroachment permits, traffic control design and working with the customers directly.

I also led a team that designed and built a new 10 mile backbone for the City of Riverside that had zero Verizon presence. The project involved working with multiple city officials, railroad authorities, the electric company and Southern California JPA. An all aerial route was designed with zero underground construction or leases. This lowered the cost enough to actually be feasible for the customer.

Ameriss (American Service System Corporation)

My OSP responsibilities included the design of buried and aerial fiber systems and their supporting structures. I gathered information on cable counts, existing facilities (telephone, cable, water pipes, gas lines, etc.), and layouts of existing and proposed structures.

My On-Premise duties included the construction and work order billing and design using Verizon based applications - RAMS, HPUX, AAIS and ICGS.

My Right of Way (ROW) duties included the procurement and presentation of all necessary information needed for city and state encroachment permits. The information presented included field surveys drawings, existing utilities, property lines.

Westshare Services, Inc.

(360) 668-6841 - Snohomish, WA
Contract: RCN
Position: Right of Way Agent / OSP Engineer, 9/00 – 1/01

Westshare Services is engineering firm providing fiber-to-the-premise (FTTP) and fiber-to-the-neighborhood (FTTN) services in the telecommunications, power and utility fields.

My responsibilities included the design of buried and aerial cable systems and supporting structures. In doing so, I gathered necessary information regarding cable counts, existing facilities (telephone, cable, water pipes, gas lines, etc.), and layout of existing and proposed structures.

Some of the steps included in the design were: field conducted surveys of the geographic area; the interface with other utilities, governmental agencies and highway departments; provide input to CAD designers as well as create my own CAD designs; secure right-of-way and permits as needed for the work authorizations.

Outsource, Inc.

(702) 655-3954 - Las Vegas, NV

Contract: Century Link, Southern Nevada
Position: OSP Engineer, 2/11 – 12/11

Outsource’s project was to condition existing copper plant for Century Link’s high speed data/video/voice Prism Network. I researched a service area, usually an entire cross-box, for existing bridge tap. Once found, I then created work orders that removed and tested these servicing areas. I also designed DSL service work orders.

Cross-Country Land Services is engineering firm providing oversights of fiber-optic burials. It was my job to inspect and oversee several contractor efforts in complying with OSHA safety standards, traffic control and contractual specifications on bores, splice trenches and manhole installations.

Notes and field sketches were taken of the contractor’s progress along with any safety violations or construction hazards. If a serious problem arose such as bore frakings or extreme violations of safety then a supervisor was notified immediately.
