7/2003
– 8/2003 Woltcom/Verizon
Irving, Texas Customer
Service Administrator (Expedites) As
a contract employee of Woltcom, I worked as a member of Verizon’s “Work
Stoppage” support team. I trained and prepared for six weeks to handle the
flow of ASR’s (Access Service Requests) for Verizon’s Wholesale
Market customers, in the event of a strike in their New England service
areas. Due to my performance during the training process, myself and only 14
others (out of approximately 125 CSA’s), were chosen to handle expedites. The
Verizon systems that we learned and practiced using were: TIRKS, CAFÉ,
CABS, WFA, VETS (Verizon Escalation Tracking System), LiveWire, and
RequestNet. The “Work Stoppage” Center was closed at the end of August, when
Verizon saw that there was no longer a threat of a strike. 9/2001
– 10/2002 TekSystems/Verizon
Irving, Texas Hi-Cap
Installation Technician/Coordinator
As
a contract employee of TekSystems, I worked for Verizon, providing HDSL/HiCap
services to their Special Services customers in the DFW Metro Area. During my
first month of employment, I worked as an Outside Plant Technician, testing,
qualifying and installing the local loop cable facilities for T1/DS1 circuits
to customer locations. Because of my prior project management experience, I
was asked to become part of the HiCap Test Center/Network Operations Center,
to coordinate the efforts of our field technicians with all of the other
Verizon work groups involved in providing special circuits. My other
responsibilities included: tracking, problem solving, and escalation (as
required) of all wholesale due dated orders in Verizon’s Northeast Section of
Texas. I also represented the Special Services OSP organization on the daily
CSI (Customer Service Index) Wholesale Conference Call. Because of my unique
approach, focus and commitment to providing HiCap service to Verizon’s
wholesale customers, I have played a key roll in taking them from the worst
of six regions to “First Place” in less than a year. The Wholesale
“Customer Due Date (CDD) % Met” objective is 92% and before I arrived the
Northeast Section averaged 87%, we have averaged 98% or better for this entire
past year. Unfortunately, due to the continued economic down turn and budget
concerns, Verizon was forced to lay off all contractors within the
organization that I reported to, myself included. 12/2000
- 7/2001 Metromedia Fiber Network
Services, Inc. Dallas, Texas Senior
Project/Program Manager Project/Program
Management of the delivery of diverse dark fiber rings to MFN's Global
Account carrier (CLEC) customers for their SONET and DWDM metropolitan
networks. As part of the Global Accounts team I was responsible for the
planning, pricing, coordination, and implementation of services to Allegiance
Telecom, Inc. and SBC Telecom, Inc. for the western portion of the United
States. Worked closely with local network operations, engineering and
construction coordinates, for both the customer and MFN in Seattle, Portland,
Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Phoenix. Responsible for servicing all facets
of our customer's multi-million dollar, twenty year contracts. My employment
with MFN ended, due to their eventual bankruptcy, which forced them to lay
off approximately 70% of their employees, company-wide. 3/2000
- 11/2000 SBC(now AT&T),
Dallas, Texas Area
Manager - Project Management I
was promoted within the Special Services Provisioning District to handle the
supervision of 6 Project Managers located in both Dallas and Austin, who were
responsible for the implementation of large complex projects providing OC3
through OC48 SONET networks and DS1 through OC12 services to our
Interexchange Carrier and Wireless customers in the northern, northeastern,
central, and western portions of Texas. I also had 1 clerical subordinate. My
duties included: workload acceptance and distribution, reviewing project
serving plans, internal and customer escalations, training and budget requirements,
technical support for Marketing and Network coordinates. Under my
supervision, we continuously managed between 55 to 75 active projects and
more than doubled the number of completed projects compared to the previous
year, which represented approximately $134 million in revenue to the company.
Was instrumental in developing and promoting 3 subordinates to Area Manager
and promoted 2 employees into project management. I retired with 32 years of
service, when an enhanced early retirement package was offered. 1/1999
