2006SBC – Dallas / San Antonio, Texas

  FTTP Engineer

Designing Fiber to the Node construction drawings for SBC. Responsibilities include: all state and local permitting; designing fiber & broadband backbone from the central offices to the Ocatel hub sites. Designs are completed with AutoCAD programs.

 

 

2004 -2006  Ameriss – Bowie, Maryland / Riverside, CA

  FTTP Engineer

Design Fiber to the Premise construction drawings for Verizon in Maryland and California. This includes, but not limited to, fiber backbone to the fiber distribution hub. Resolve right of way and permitting issues.

 

2003 - 2004Sprint – Houston, Texas

OSP/ISP Engineer

Design OSP & ISP construction drawings, engineer and order AFC UMC equipment for field  deployment and central office racking, powering, and LET equipment to match Nortel switch.

Including but not limited to, ordering fiber MUXES, ISDN, ADSL, ADTRAN. This project also created a new switch expansion (entrance facilities).  

 

2001 - 2003 TDS – Houston, Texas

Senior Project Manager

Design construction drawings of fiber cables and high-rise site surveys to meet local and state safety codes, including BISCI codes. 

 

1998 - 2001Winstar - Houston, Texas

Senior NC&D Project Manager

Managed the design and construction of wireless and fiber-optic telecom systems within high-rise buildings. Have built and completed over 200 high rise sites (switches, Hubs, & B-sites). From the planning stage of a Hub site to the final completion, turn-up, and migration of customers. Type of equipment installed, but not limited to; complete DC power units, AFC UMC1000A, CAC Widebank 28M1\3 MUXES, P-Com Radios, Spectrum II Radios, Cisco 2600 series IOS IP routers,  Cisco Ethernet router \2WIC. Conducted fiber feasability studies using personel Gramin hand held GPS 12 equipment.

Administered the selection, budgeting and supervising of contractors to complete these tasks.

1997 - 1998Volt Telecom – Baytown, Texas

Senior OSP Engineer

Designed fiber routes, road moves, and facility engineering duties for the GTE Baytown district. Worked with IDDS, ICGS, and FITL as part of these duties.

 

1996 - 1997      Aerotek - Dallas, Texas

OSP Supervisor/Engineering Manager

Supervised, managed engineering and drafting clerks; EF&I projects; determined company policies; bid all OSP engineering work through-out the United States. Designed, and inspected constrrction drawings (EWO’s) using high-bird cable fro ONU’s to homes, the first fiber to the home projects for SBC in Richardson, TX.

 

1995 - 1996Northstar Telcom - San Jose, California

Estimated and designed routine work prints for the BIC Group.  Designed special circuits:

T - 1's, Hi-Caps.  Fiber to business complexes:  designed frame mount or cabinet type SLC- 96 for distribution within complexes. Engineer and over see construction of POP sites within major high rise buildings. Equipment installed AT&T SLC-96 MUXES, Cicso IP routers, T-1 and DS3 terminating equipment. Designed work prints on AutoCAD Light.

Estimated and did routine planning and work prints.  Over 100 jobs produced.  2 large               estimates.

Procured R.O.W., determined routes for fiber optics projects; four in this area (both at SLC 96               sites and C.O. term). Developed and operated an oilfield logging operation.  Responsible for all aspects of               business, including, but not limited to, developing and administering contracts, payrolls,               supervising employees, purchasing, sales, fleet and equipment administration/repair.

Outside Plant Engineer

Developed outside plant specific/routine work orders, work drawings, dollar and hour budgets,               project justifications and project inspections.  Performed supervisory duties of office manager               and directed other engineers and drafting personnel.  Contracted to Aluma Wall Construction,               Reack, Inc., and Henkles & Mc Coy.
