Objective:

Employment:

Mid States Consultants                                                        FROM September 2013 to Present

Tomah, WI

Resident Engineer

I oversaw construction on a fiber optic project in Monona, IA.

CenturyLink                                                                                    From April 2011 to August 2013

The Dalles, OR

Area Plant Supervisor

I was offered the APS position in The Dalles, OR effective with the close of the Qwest acquisition in April.  I worked in both the Boardman and The Dalles areas until a new APS was placed in Boardman.  In addition to the regular duties I went through the C5 conversion with my new team and helped them acclimate to advantex and the other system changes that came with the C5 conversion.

CenturyLink                                                                                    From October 2009 to April 2011

Boardman, OR

Area Plant Supervisor

I relocated from Wisconsin to Oregon after the Embarq acquisition closed in 2009.  I supervised a very rural legacy Centurytel area of Oregon that geographically was 350 miles East to West and 100 miles North to South.  The duties were very similar to what I was doing in Wisconsin except for the maintenance of several microwave radio sites.  I also spent time in Las Vegas during the C3 Conversion and assisted the local supervisor with his team’s transition to Advantex.

CenturyTel                                                                                    From October 2000 to October 2009

Galesville, WI

Area Plant Supervisor

I was responsible for fifteen exchanges in Wisconsin and Minnesota, supervising fifteen employees.  All service order activity that requires a field task was handled by my work group.   All repairs also flowed through my group.   In 2008 we completed 11,153 customer demand jobs.  I oversaw the deployment of H S I to all our exchanges in 2001.   We also identified and developed H S I in several rural areas from 2001 to 2011.  We successfully kicked off IPTV in the Holmen, WI exchange in 2005.  We also were involved in developing, building and maintaining some of the first FTTP neighborhoods in the CenturyTel system.   Other duties include working with the AOM and developing the FEV, Employee and non-Employee budgets.  I was also responsible for maintenance of buildings, inspection of construction, approving Cup’s and invoices in the bid master system and taking charge of customer issues.

Century Telephone                                                                      From December 1994 to October 2000

Lacrosse, WI

OSP Construction Coordinator

As the construction coordinator I directed most of the capital OSP construction in Wisconsin and Minnesota.  Depending on the season I was responsible for up to thirty contractor crews and contract inspectors.  During my tenure as construction coordinator I was certified by RUS as “Engineer in Charge” on several RUS funded projects. With that certification I was responsible for creating “515 RUS contracts”, sending out invitation to bidders, conducting pre-bid and pre-construction meetings, overseeing construction to assure contract compliance and accepting the completed projects on behalf of CenturyTel.  I also negotiated “773 Line Extension contracts”.  I was the intervening party between the consultant, customer and contractor if there were any disputes during construction.

Century Telephone                                                                      From July 1992 to December 1994

Lacrosse, WI

OSP Facility Engineer

I determined needs for OSP additions due to new customers, high cable fills in existing facilities and necessary replacements of existing facilities due to road relocations, service problems, etc.  When a work order was needed I would do a study of the area to determine the best solution to the need. This was based on economics as well as future growth and customer needs. I would create staking sheets, schematics and cut sheets as part of the work order.  After the work was complete and records were updated I would close the work order. Our group also did all future planning of the OSP and incorporated that with our responsibility of preparing the capital budget.
