Project Manager | Senior Network Engineer - Allen, TX                                                                                                            2010-2012

Project Management: Managed multiple technology projects, rendered effectual support and technical solutions including status updates and documentation for all facets of product management, engineering and field operations including oversight of the network equipment catalog.

·         Actively managed multiple technical projects from RFP development to delivery.

·         Successfully developed techniques for managing technology projects through the RFP process resulting in cost savings, conservation of labor resources and timely protection delivery.

Technology Development and Integration: Effectively led cross-functional product selection teams in developing and integrating new technologies into the legacy network.  Evaluated hardware solutions for the access segment of the network. Project Management: Directed the development of network access and network infrastructure design for 84 exchanges in the Gulf and West Central districts of Texas. Formulated detailed cost analysis for Individual Case Basis (ICB) requests for Gulf and West Central districts of Texas.

·         Developed and managed 52 issued infrastructure growth and construction projects, resulting in network expansion and functionality optimization, while contributing $300K in cost savings over a span of two years.

·         Acquired and managed funding for COE and OSPE projects focused on growth, maintenance and augmentation of new and existing access and central office infrastructure throughout southwest region of Texas.

Performance Management: Organized field visits to business customers in order to determine growth, retirement and removal potential and to evaluate proper costing and timing of projects for release.

 

Switch Planner - Irving, TX                                                                                                                                                       2006-2007

Project Management: Planned and managed multiple CO building addition and remodeling projects for the entire Texas footprint.

·         Managed 14 switch projects within a year which resulted in network expansion and increased penetration of Verizon’s FIOS triple play service.

·         Managed 7 building addition projects.

·         Developed and managed a state wide PIC obsolescence project which led to saving $4M in operational cost savings.

Strategic Planning and Implementation: Developed plans for growth and adequate usage of central office switching equipment and rendered heavy engagement throughout cost analysis for central office business cases.

 

Power Engineer - Irving, TX                                                                                                                                                       2005-2006

 

Project Management: Oversaw network design; implemented growth planning solutions for the access segment of the network, central office infrastructure and central office power plant equipment through administration of engineering construction projects. Formulated engineering work orders for switch projects and ensured budgetary control of all released projects.

·         Managed 8 power plant addition projects within a span of one year.

·         Proactively planned and developed timely, cost-effective relief and modernization power projects in support of both local copper and fiber to the premises (FTTP) networks.

 

Field Technician - Boston, MA                                                                                                                                                       1994-2005

 

Project Management:  Democratic National Convention project team member; Boston Marathon Project team member 2002 - 2003.  Lead project manager for all network installation projects and major cuts for Boston University.

·         Functioned as project manager/ team lead for Boston University, a large Tier 1 customer with a campus footprint of 148 buildings.

Process Improvement: Facilitated the installation of circuits and repair of networks for residential, small and large businesses. Managed turning up, testing and maintenance of hi-cap/special services circuits.

Technology Development and Integration: Took a lead role in managing the repair and installation of fiber optic and copper cable networks.  Charged with the installation and monitoring of cable air pressure systems, CEV/CEM backup systems and alarms.
