Network Integration Center (NIC) Engineer

 

·         Remotely assist or support ASP/FE (Field Engineer) thru Ericsson OSS for all types of UMTS integrations for AT&T Network (from 1st to 5th Carrier Integration on Ericsson Cabinet such as 3418, 3206, 3518, 3106 and using OBIF, RRU and RRUW).

·         Troubleshoot T1 alarms from ATM mode or Ethernet using fiber optic medium. Load and run radio carrier scripts. Integrate sites by following the Methods of Procedures (MOP) for particular integration task and trouble shoot alarms using application softwares WINfiol or Secure CRT. Knowledgeable to use MML commands like AMOS or Moshell.

·         Assigned to do Alarm Clearing Project for North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee during my 8 months work in Ericsson for AT&T project.

 

Field Tester (RTU2/RT2)

 

·         Mainly responsible for installing 3rd FRIA Nokia modules for 2nd carrier add and commission those modules to the BTS. Install additional FPAA for extra power supply of BTS.

·         Install and commission FSME needed to make Nokia BTS cabinet capable of HSPA for 4G Network. Trouble-shoot BTS alarms on site.

·         Do calls test (SMS, Mobile to Mobile and Data) thru test phone on all sectors. Perform drive test for E911 testing to verify PSAP and class of service.

·         Work in Michigan Project. Did Nokia 2G installation, commissioning and integration. Install hardware modules in configuration of 4x4x4, 3x3x4 and etc. Commission new cabinet and integrate the cabinet to the network.

·         Trouble-shoot different 2G Cabinet alarms that arise during integration. Coordinate any issues and alarms to Nokia Siemens NOC and Project Manger.

 

 

AT&T Mobility, Los Angeles, Southern California Market & Dallas Market                                2010 to 2011

Ericsson UMTS Integrator and Tester (RTU2/RT2)

 

 

·         Main job responsibilities are integrate UMTS 3206, 3106 and OBIF 3rd Carrier cabinets, commission and trouble shoot if Node B alarms arise during integration. Install DC power cables to UMTS cabinet +24 VDC for 3206 type and -48 VDC for RRU with OBIF type of cabinet. Fix T1’s issue at site from NIU cards. Coordinate any kind of site issue to responsible switch network like MSN, RNC Bridge and AT&T Bridge.

·         Trouble shoot alarm on fiber optic cables and other loose cable connection at RBS side like RF jumpers and co-site kit cables for 3rd Carrier Cabinet. Upgrade site from lower version P6 package to latest version P7 package.  Do call test and data test on each sectors using TEMS Sony Ericsson Test phone.

·         In Dallas Market, did some 4th carrier integration and Ericsson UMTS alarms trouble shooting such as Low RSSI reading, Low VSWR, Antenna Branch alarms and etc., for ATT Wireless Network.

 

Node B Integrator and Tester Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Louisiana (Market)

 

·         Field Integrator mainly responsible for performing 1st, 2nd and 3rd Ericsson New Cabinet. Integration (3206, 3106). Do locally loading of scripts using EMAS for integration at site in different part of Louisiana. Do Node B alarms trouble shooting such as TMA, Atenna Branch alarm, Low RSSI and VSWR. Coordinate with NIC and AT&T Switch to trouble shoot T1 alarms. Also install 3206 new cabinet for 3rd Carrier.

·         Run and termite co-site kit cable. Swing RF jumpers at Diplexers and Node B Filter Unit (FU’s). Do 911 Call test and drive test at site.

 

Ericsson Field Tester (RT2) Tulsa, Oklahoma and Abilene, Texas (Market)

 

·         Install, Integrate and commission new Ericsson UMTS Cabinet using EMAS, Ceasar and WS File Transfer Protocol software those cabinet such as 3206, 3106, 3418 and 3518. Have done as many as 25 sites new integration for 1st Carrier, 2nd Carrier and 3rd Carrier.

·         Completed 10 cabinets swapped from 3418 to 3206 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Carrier and integrate those cabinets. Did 10 sites for 2nd Carrier add. Did more than 20 sites for 3rd Carrier expansion in new cabinet.

·         Ran co-site kit cable for 3rd Carrier Cabinet. Did call test, data test and 911 after 3rd Carrier was added to existing 1st and 2nd Carrier Cabinet. Ran and test new T1. Terminate DC cables and power up newly built cabinet. Ran and terminate RF jumpers to cabinet. Trouble shoot as many as 30 sites for alarms such as Low VSWR, Low RSSI and Feeder current alarm, Antenna Branch A and B malfunction, PSU alarms and etc.

 

 

Stelera Broadband Network Texas and West Kansas Market                                                            2009 to 2010

Project: Nokia Flexi UMTS, EMERSON Rectifier, Nokia HSPA Adapter

HSPA+WCDMA BTS Field Engineer

 

·         Install and commission newly built Nokia Flexi BTS cabinets with HSPA Adapter and Extension FSMB.  Used DX2000 Nokia software to commission the HSPA Adapter. Integrate site to the network. Did drive test and make sure it would reach desired throughput of at least 7.5 Mbps for download speed and 1.2 Mbps for upload speed.

 

FCOA Flexi BTS Integrator

 

·         Completed a project for Stelera Wireless Network in Amarillo, Texas. Install Nokia Outdoor Cabinet FCOA Flexi BTS for HSPA+ including jumper cable installation and GPS antenna.

·         Commission Power Rectifier (Emerson) and upgrade Flexi BTS software. Audit site Service Panel for the standard power source 3-phase 220 V AC, correct 20 amperes Circuit Breaker and 12 AWG electrical wire gauge.

 

Node B UMTS Tester (NRTU2)

 

·         Worked with T-Mobile Nokia UMTS Project in different Cities of Arizona. Integrate and commission 50 UMTS sites. Upgrade BTS software to newer version for local and remote access on antenna tilt (RET) which will help the NOC (OSS) for remote RET adjustment. Its’ include Node B alarms trouble shooting which mainly focus on antenna such as RET alarms, MHA, VSWR alarms and feeder line loss.

 

Microwave Path Surveyor (Boston, Massachusetts)

 

·         Did Microwave Path survey project in Boston, MA for Sprint/NEXTEL Main Backhaul. Verified LOS or Blocked path. Used path profile to determine critical point and software TOPO version 7 with Delorme earthmate GPS to drive the path. Measure obstruction height like trees, buildings and etc., verified distance of antenna center line by using Range finder. Check azimuth and elevation thru compass and earthmate GPS.

 

 

AT&T Little Rock City and Fayetteville City, Arkansas, Tulsa                                                           2008 to 2009

Project: 2G and UMTS Ericsson Cabinet

Ericsson Field Engineer/Tester/BTS Technician (RT2)

 

·         2G Cabinet Swapping from old DOBSON BTS cabinets to Ericsson BTS cabinets and New 3G Ericsson Cabinet installation and 2nd Carrier Expansion for AT&T project. Completed an Ericsson Project (Dobson), Oklahoma. Work as a RTU1 Engineer for Ericsson Project in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Fort Smith, Arkansas. Installed 60 Outdoor Cabinets (3106, 2106) and Indoor Cabinet (3206). Done second carrier add for UMTS Cabinet 3206 and trouble shoot 2G and 3G alarms.

·         Integrate new 2G Ericsson Cabinets (3106, 2106). Install Back up Battery for Ericsson 2G and 3G Outdoor Cabinet. Have done T1 installation from shelter to demarc box, T1 BER testing and site QA. Install and ran RF jumpers from cabinet to feeder lines. Do antenna sweep test.

·         Have done 60 sites for 3g 2nd carrier integration Cabinet 3206 and Node B trouble shooting in Little Rock, AR and Fayetteville, AR. Installed RF connectors and ran RF jumpers for UMTS. Install new lines of Cat5 for new T1’s requirement from Shelter Telco Box to NIU equipment outdoor location. Terminate T1s in Indoor Cabinet to NIU card.

 

UMTS Node B Engineer/Drive Tester (NRTU2) (Denver, Colorado)

 

·         Work as a UMTS Node B Engineer for Nokia 3G Network in Denver, CO. Perform Functional Test Call and alarm Trouble Shooting for BTS 3G Nokia Cabinet. Drive around the BTS to conduct call test in all sectors. Check for voice call and proper handover. Test SMS and packet call or data on the BTS side. Trouble shoot and re-commission 3G BTS if alarms exist on the site. Do 911 test calls.

Study possible fiber optic route taking consideration on vacant poles, manhole and underground conduits.

·         Do research, walkout/survey and study Fiber route that will run on Poles or Underground/Buried in different part of Dallas. Do Site Permitting in all approved projects.

·         Work as a Field Engineer for Nextel and Sprint sites for FOC Ring Project in Austin. Survey and audit more than 60 sites of Sprints, Nextel, Verizon and T-Mobile. Draft those surveyed sites in Microsoft Visio 2003 and draw the Lateral designs in AutoCAD.

Completed as many as 60 Nokia Ultrasite BTS installation, and Simple Add (Radio Expansion) in different cities of USA.  It includes BTS commissioning, BTS integration, and performing hardware reconfiguration in 2-way or 4-way combining in 2 or more cabinets. Have done Abis mapping in different BTS configurations and T1/E1 isolation. Perform site audit in different US Markets. Trouble-shoot different kinds of alarms in GSM Nokia Cabinet.
