PROFILE
I currently have eighteen years of telecommunications experience. During my eighteen
years, I started out as a install technician, worked my way up to splicer and then cable
repair. I was picked for Verizon’s first FTTH project in 2000 as a lead technician and
worked my way up to Lead OSP foreman. After working the FTTH project, I was Lead
technician and foreman for the rebuild at the World Trade Center after the Sept.11 2000
attacks. I then relocated to Arizona where I was hired by Qwest/Centurylink. I was the
Lead technician for their xDSL projects. After taking a early retirement package, I was
hired by Vista Care Communications to work on a FTTH project for Google Fiber. I
started as the Lead fiber splicer and trainer and now moved to Project Manager.
EXPERIENCE
PROJECT MANAGER/LEAD OSP TECHNICIAN,VISTA CARE
COMMUNICATIONS(GOOGLE FIBER)PROVO,UT 2014-PRESENT
As project manager I fully support the OSP technicians on the deployment of fiber drop
cables to the customers homes and small business. I am responsible for the
underground company placing and personal property replacement. I work crossfunctionally
with Google engineers and the local OSP company on proper construction
and material handling. Drawing and deploying fiber backbone to support the current
network in the Provo, UT area. Keeping upper management updated on project
progress and changes. Proper planing for existing and new home construction. My
production, schedule and budget are reported weekly and monthly to Vista Care and
Google. I also contact city and state planners for permits, problems, roadblocks that are
raised during the project. Coordinating with local Blue Stake for proper markings prior to
any groundwork being performed. Conducting meetings with my venders, employees,
and customers when needed. With prior experience as a field technician, I am able to
assist in fiber splicing and training new technicians if needed.
Lead Technician/Field Foreman, Qwest Centurylink, Florence, Az 2003-2013
When hired for Qwest, I was placed on a HICAP xDSL crew. I was quickly appointed as
a Lead Technician. I installed and repaired various xDSL circuits for residential and
business customers. I worked the North Scottsdale area and was Lead on the FTTH
project in DC Ranch. It is the only area in Arizona that currently has FTTH. I was
responsible for splicing the backbone fiber to the BNU’s to the drop cable to the homes.
I am trained on various finer and copper testing equipment and understand the cost to
that equipment.I would have weekly reports on finer loss and total amount of finer
placed and BNU turn-ups. I was also Lead on the Centurylink Prism project. I would
install VDSL2 circuits and gateways and monitor the circuits with wireshark software. I
was a field foreman the last six years I was there. That included finishing projects on
time with proper close outs and time reporting.
FIELD TECHNICIAN/FIELD FOREMAN, NEW YORK TELEPHONE/VERIZON,
BROOKLYN, NY 1996-2003
Install and repair of copper, coax, finer circuits. Copper and Fiber splicing. Aerial and
underground cable repair. All aspects of CXM. Lead technician and Lead OSP foreman
for Verizon initial FTC and FTTH projects. Splice and test fiber circuits. Configure carrier
and BNU test and turn-ups. Use if fujikura single mode and ribbon splicing machines.
OTDR for testing and DB loss readings. Drawing and reading of aerial and underground
