Osp Foreman

As a Osp Foreman I am responsible for  conducting site surveys at the beginning of a project.  Prior to placing cable I test cable new and existing.  Reading prints I place the cable fiber and copper.  Using various equipment such as tugger trailer and cable wench.  I build splice cases and do copper cable splicing.  Install all the way to where service is needed.  Conduct final test and turn up.  Conduct final walk through.

Perform custom wiring/home networking solutions, which requires attic/basement crawls and use of wall drop equipment as well as pre-wire residential units according to diagram. Accurately complete paperwork associated with each transaction such as daily/monthly reports, audits, CLI logbook, vehicle inspections, and material/tool requisitions. Troubleshoot and repair the forward and reverse coaxial plant from the customer's equipment to the tap. Learn, understand, explain and sell products to our customers. Interface with other departments as required.

Optical Network Design Engineer  (Contractor)

I was working under contract to Mastec Communications.  We were working along side Avaya Communications at Lackland Airforce Base on a project named CITS.  (Combat Information Transport System)  My duties included going to each building and conducting a site survey.  After the survey, design the dedicated electrical, ground and fiber paths.  I then test existing fiber to see if it meets CITS standards.  Then I will write a 332 on this proposal and it will be sent to the government for approval.

Project Manager (self employed sub-contractor)

I projected managed the Phase II part of the high beam netting system for the 207 Home Depot stores in the southwest United States.  My duties included scheduling stores to be installed for four crews of eight people each.  I maintained all paperwork including sign-offs, timesheets, sight surveys, parts ordering and billing.  I would have a weekly conference call with Home Depot headquarters to give updates on our progress.

Supervisor Field Test Engineer (Contractor)

I was contracted out to Ceina working on the Multiwave DWDM 1600 system. (Certified Level 3)  I supervised a team ranging from two to fifteen employees.  During SVT training I have worked on other Ciena equipment including 10G, Metro, Corestream and Coredirector.   I also have worked with Nortel OC 48’s thru 192’s and Siemens DWDM.  My duties included populating shelves, running fiber, final test and turnup of Terminals, OLA’s and OADM’s.  Test equipment used included OTDR, Digital Lightwave Tester, Spectrum Analyzer.  I also maintained test data sheets, resource planning, project matrix, and labor summary.                                                                                                                                                                                        Firstworld Communications, Denver, CO                                    June 1999 to June 2000                                        IT\ISP Billing Supervisor                                                                                                                                                         As ISP Billing Manager I was responsible for the migration of the billing systems after Firstworld buys a new company.  My part of the acquisition was to make sure that all the tables are populated in Platypus.  Testing of the T1 and Cisco Router to make sure we had connectivity between the new acquisition and us.   Using my IP networking skills I had to make sure that we have all the equipment and resources to accomplish our goals.  I was on call 24 hrs for the technical support and training of  Platypus billing system for three call centers.  I also maintained the security levels and daily operations on all the billing databases.                                                                                                      USLD/LCI/QWEST, San Antonio, TX/Denver, CO                    July 1997 to June 1999                                                CBUD Technician                                                                                                                                                                   As a CBUD Technician I am responsible for the protection of  SONET and DWDM fiber optical systems.  Some of my duties include researching trouble tickets through the use of Delorme maps and assigning them as needed to the field technicians.  I had to be responsible immediately to Service Outages identified by NOC, TOC, ROC or NMC.
