This involved network splicing, field engineering & field inspections for quality assurance. For Time Warner Communications we are involved in the deployment of the Wi-Fi portion of their network.

Deployed & optimized a wireless fiber Emerson network in the Main Place Mall in Santa Ana. I installed & tested the -48V DC power system in both the head end & the FAP (Fiber Aggregation Point) for client American Tower.

·   Helping run the Wi–Fi Electronic installation of the components needed for Time Warner Cable in Orange County. This work is maintenance window sensitive (11:00PM to 5:00AM). The network has to be taken down during the window, & fully restored by 5:00AM.

I also supervised the team performing OSP inspections – looking for G.O. 95 issues, blown poles from the weight load, etc. I worked directly with the design engineering team to ensure the integrity of our network.

RF Wireless Technician / Trans Ops Technician

·   Duties included but not limited to: Activation & Maintenance of the Sprint PCS wireless phone network. I was involved with the activation of the San Diego network for the initial launch of the Sprint wireless service, & did extensive work in the Orange & Los Angeles County networks. I was the senior fiber technician with the wireless network, & maintained the fiber networks in both the head ends & the field in Los Angeles & O.C. I supervised & was actively a part of the team that restored all fiber outages. I also worked directly with the RF engineers testing network quality & growth. The last 2 years I worked in the Trans Ops division, which is the old fiber optic long- haul network. We were responsible for the maintenance & restoration of the Sprint Southern California fiber backbone.

 

·   We maintained the Alcatel-Lucent DMX 1665 data multiplexer (MUX) for Ethernet/SAN/SONET bandwidth gap bridges between LANs & core backbone networks.

·   Experience with microwave radio systems & MDR8000 radios.

·   Installation, testing, turn-up, and troubleshooting of OC3, OC12, OC48, and OC192 optical rings.
