§ Installation, maintenance & repair of Inside
Plant (ISP), Outside Plant (OSP),LAN & WAN cabling in a PBX configuration
on a secure military compound.
§ Accountable for design and development of systems that
include cable systems, splicing and terminations.
§ Full charge responsibility for designing, planning and
implementing various layouts such as CAT5 and single and multimode fiber
optics.
§ Plan and perform all cabling and manhole ducting to entire
cable distribution system encompassing aerial, buried, blown, plenum and
suspended ladder cable.
§ Provided Moves, Add & Changes (MAC), telecom equipment
installation and DS0 services connections at the Main Distribution Frames
(MDF) and Intermediate Distribution Frames (IDF) from Redcom IGX switch in a
Central offices environment. Configured customer line features on the IGX.
§ Served as technical liaison between U.S Army & ITT,
providing site cabling & network architecture information. Provided
customer service & assistance.
§ Burial, installation, routing & termination of
communications and telecommunications cable [copper (cat-5e, 6), coax &
fiber] for telephone, internet and cable/satellite. Supervising &
training technicians.
§ Operated trencher, tractor and other heavy equipment used
for cable burial, including the “Ditch-Witch”.
§ Supervising and training technicians in fiber optic
termination.
§ Utilized 3M termination kits and Furjskui 40S splicers in
terminating and splicing activities, as well as Krone termination blocks for
CAT 5 cable.
§ Installed and repaired secure and digital telephones, LAN
drops, 26 pair cable, 66 punch down blocks, 110 blocks, and wire wraps.
§ Skillset: Buried duct systems, copper cable
distribution, fiber/multimode fiber optics cable distribution, man-hole
systems, hand-hole systems, aerial cable distribution, telecommunications
pole systems, signal grounding systems, lightning protection systems, main
cable distribution frames, MDF, IDF, IGX, building cable distribution frames,
overall cable plant designs, cable splicing and termination, Utilized 3M
termination, Furjskui 40S splicers, Krone termination blocks CAT5.
