During the past 29 years, I have managed, designed and engineered Telecommunications and Audio Visual systems, supervised the installation and maintenance of Telecommunications OSP / ISP systems, Audio Visual Telecommunications systems and Security systems.  As a Quality Control Inspector; ensured all installations were IAW Bell Core, ANSI TIA/EIA, IEEE, OSHA, BICSI and Infocomm standards; to include the installation of Cisco/Tandberg Codecs (C90, C60, 1700 and MXP 6000), Lucent 5ESS switches, Fujitsu FLM OC 96s, Lucent Any Media channel banks, Alcatel Lite-Span 2000s, Titan 2000 DACs, Cisco, Adtran and Vina routers and switches, DSOs, DS1s and DS3.

Duties/Responsibilities

Design new AV solutions, setup VTCs for the CENTCOM Forward Headquarters; troubleshoot MCUs and distant endpoints; configured Cisco Tandberg endpoints; installed and assisted in the engineering of telecommunications network infrastructure and AV systems and components.

Field Engineer

Duties/Responsibilities: 

Directed and supervised the installation of the C4 infrastructure and the IP based Audio and Video Telecommunication Systems via copper, fiber optic, coax cables and associated equipment infrastructure for AFRICOM and EUCOM Command Centers.  Assigned Internet Protocol address for Cisco / Tandberg codec’s, desktop units and switches, Extron switches and associated Crestron components.  I performed the initial QA/QC after the installation of equipment, wiring, labeling and dressing of the cables for all C4 infrastructure and AV installation was completed.  Trouble-shot and corrected problems associated with the newly developed and first time fielding Digital Tandberg C60 and C90 CODEC rack mounted equipment, Extron switches, Optelecom channel banks, Clarity video walls, Pesa cheetah switches and transceivers, Think Logical control systems, wall mounted plasma monitors, ceiling mounted video projectors, VTC cameras, microphones and all associated equipment, copper and fiber optic cables and connectors.  Updated redlines drawings utilizing AutoCad 2010.

Duties/Responsibilities: 

Designed, directed and supervised the installation of C4 infrastructure and communications rooms, programmed and tested security network equipment for Hirsch, Lenel and Logiplex security systems; installed tested and certified, wireless networks for secure and non-secure voice and data circuits to include NIPR, SIPR, CENTRX, NATO and SCI.  Performed site surveys prior to installations and walk troughs’ with customers after the jobs were completed.  Amended engineering due to customer’s request and in location where changes were necessary to facilitate a professional installation product; made recommendations and changes to enhance existing communications and security networks.

Duties/Responsibilities: 

Supporting the 376^th AEW as a C4I Outside plant installation and maintenance subject matter expert; I designed, engineered and upgraded the outside plant in Manas Air Base Kyrgyzstan; also, assisted management and inside plant engineers with the design, code and standards of inside plant installation and maintenance; trained all new hires to perform their tasks safely and in accordance with code and standards; provided training plans and instructions to technicians on the installation and operating procedures of new equipment. 

Operated 10k fork lifts, bobcats and trenchers; installed and programmed switches and routers; terminated and spliced fiber optic and copper cables; performed quality control checks and submitted weekly reports to management.

Functional Analyst (contractor)

Duties/Responsibilities: 

Supervised and inspected the C4ISR installation of AC and DC power distribution systems, data cabinets, patch panels, assigned IP address to Cisco switches and fiber optic patch panels; installed, tested and certified fiber optic cables and connectors utilizing the Fluke FTK2000 Light source and power meter, and the Acterna 5026 HD OTDR.

Installed and spliced fiber optic cables with the Corning X77 fusion splicer; Installed tested and certified category 5 and 6 cables and connectors with Fluke DSP 4000SR.

Designed OSP and ISP pathways and cable entrance facilities for voice, NIPR, SIPR, NATO and CENTRX circuits; performed quality control checks on all copper and fiber optic cable installation to ensure that the installation was in accordance with standards.

Maintained inventory of installation tools and materials and updated drawings and records with Microsoft Visio; provided daily and weekly reports to management.

Lead CC/CATV Tech; OSP Tech IV; Technical Control Tech (contractor)

Duties/Responsibilities:

CCTV / CATV Lead Technician

Performed maintenance on Prime Image cards, Drake Audio-Video modulators, Eurostar Digital Satellite Receivers and Sigma Series SLX Audio-Video switches and associated cables. Installed new service and corrected CATV trouble at the customers’ premises; corrected problems on the Burle CCTV cameras and Harris Microwave transceivers.  Dispatched tickets and ensured that the jobs were completed within the allotted time for the priority of the ticket.

OSP Technician IV

Installed, moved and corrected troubles on voice and data drops for NIPR and SIPR network circuits; performed maintenance on communication cabinets, pedestals and maintenance holes; accurately updated communications equipment and cable records daily.

Technical Control Technician

Used the Fire-bird 6000 to troubleshoot and performed maintenance on various circuits on the Promina 90 IDNX system; loaded crypto devices (KGs, KYK13 and KOI17); updated status on tickets utilizing remedy.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Instructed soldiers and DOD civilians outside plant cable installation techniques and splicing of aerial, buried and underground cable plants (copper and fiber), also instructed pole climbing and rescue procedures. Instructed students on utilizing various types of Dynatel equipment to test, isolate and locate cable and sheath faults; students were instructed on the Dynatel 573A and 573DL Earth Return Fault and Cable Locator, 710B Resistive Fault Locator, 735 Open/Split Locator and the 965 (SLA) Subscriber Loop Analyzer.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Supervised 7 Korean Nationals and 5 US Army linesmen; provided additional training on OSP installation, trouble-shooting and splicing techniques; maintained all outside plant cables for the Pusan Military community.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Installed, maintained, removed and relocated self supporting and guyed towers, microwave dishes and antennas; installed cables, cable racks, patch-panels and communications equipment in Central Offices and Technical Control facilities; installed and performed maintenance on TVOR antennas on military airbases.
