TITLE: FIBER OPTIC TECHNICIAN
At SAF
construction, work is performed for various telecommunication companies,
schools, commercial and residential facilities, and the Department of Defense
(e.g. military bases). Description of work perform includes;
· Terminating fiber
optic cabling, performing the installation all different types of fiber optic
connectors (e.g. SC, LC, ST, FC).
· Splicing and
testing of both, fiber optic and copper cables (CAT3-6).
· Performing the
installation of fiber optic and copper cabling for the inside, and outside
plant type environment.
· Perform the
termination of copper cables on patch panels, 66 and 110 blocks, jacks and
mod plugs.
· Installing wireless
access point (WAP) devices and surveillance cameras.
· Build structured
cabling systems in data centers, central offices, telecom rooms and closets
(MDF/IDF).
·
Electronic
Hardware installation (e.g, routers, switches, switch cards, UPS, PC’s,
Firewall devices) in Data Center, Call Center, MDF and IDF.
· Experience and
certified using Fujikura, Sumitomo, corning, and Fitel fusion splicers, along
with Fluke, GN Nettest and Exfo testers, power meter and OTDR.
07/10 - 02/11 AT&T - EULESS, TX
TITLE:
UVERSE PREMISE TECHNICIAN
As an
AT&T Uverse Technician, my responsibilities were to gather installation
or service tickets for Uverse service. Work on the outside plant network or
on customer premises. Duties included;

Cross
connection assignments given at the cross connect box to installing new
cables or using existing cables at the customer’s house or business.
·
Installation
of new connectors (Coax, Cat5) Gateway boxes (receiver), computer and phone
modems.
·
Great
customer service skills and the ability to work quickly with high quality
results was expected and obtained. The job also required pole climbing
certification, CPR trained, and driver safety course.

TITLE:
CABLE TECHNICIAN
As
a CATV cable technician, I installed cable television service for Charter
Cable communications. I was responsible for the cabling service from the
telephone pole or pedestal outside the customers premise, to the television
outlet(s). Duties included;

Climbing
ladders, installing new cable and connectors were necessary.
·
Installation
of cable boxes (receiver), computer and phone modems. Having good customer
relations was an absolute must.
