Voting System Specialist 2

 

·   Performed functional and acceptance testing on thousands of Electronic Voting Systems.

·   Worked with the ITA (Independent Testing Authority) to ensure extracted firmware versions of the Electronic Voting matched the ITA provide values.

·   Provided training to the County Board of Elections on how to use the software to create an election ballot. Also provide hardware training on the Electronic Voting System. Provided training on how to extract firmware versions of the systems (Scanners and Ballot Marking Devices). Held test deck training classes to ensure logic and accuracy of voting systems performed as expected.

·   Prepared training manuals to assist the Counties with the use of the EMS (Election Management System) create ballots.

·   Posted and maintained information on an SFT site that Counties could use to obtain various utilities and documentation. Mailed out to the Counties various firmware upgrades as they were released by the ITA. Interfaced with the ITA and received firmware and software upgrades via encrypted media using True Crypt as a decryption utility.  

·   Trained and supervised a staff of temporary employees in a warehouse setting to perform acceptance and functional testing prior to shipping Voting Machines to County Board of Elections.

·   Performed test cases on the hardware and software of the Electronic Voting Systems to ensure that they worked as intended. Also tested out changes to both the Hardware and Software to make sure they performed as intended. Recorded any and all discrepancies discovered in the test cases.

·   Operated an asset tracking program (WASP) to scan and record Voting Machine asset tags into a database.

Ÿ         Led a VSA (visual site assessment) team in performing field engineering assessments of both existing and prospective FCC licensed call signs on various antenna types installed on RF towers, buildings, and water towers to be deployed in a State Wide Wireless network for Emergency Management Systems.

Ÿ         Initiated and held kick-off meetings with county agencies prior to conducting field assessments.

Ÿ         Designed and virtually modeled equipment used throughout the Fairpoint network into a Data Base called “TBS” (Telecom Business Solutions Software) ahead of schedule and received a monetary bonus.

OSP/ISP Engineer Designed, permitted, supervised construction, various (Point of Presence) POP’s and lateral fiber optic build-outs in MA & CT for a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC). Also oversaw the construction of several regeneration buildings along the NYS Thruway.

 

·               Engineered, bid-out, awarded both inside plant and outside plant fiber optic builds. Accompanied MFSNT sales staff and clients for engineering design walk-out in buildings located throughout downtown Boston.

·               Coordinated police details for street opening construction in and around Boston Ma.

·               Issued, administered, and awarded subcontracts up to $25,000 without managerial approval.

·               Tracked work progress via an accrual system before authorizing payment. Permitted, managed, tested and installed (2) two Caterpillar back-up generators in CT (Stamford & Hartford).

·               Supervised the construction of several re-gen buildings used to house various telecom tenants on a multi-million dollar long haul fiber project on the NYS thruway. Provided as-built drawings, permitted and coordinated utility feeds into re-gen buildings (electrical, phone, and fiber).  Ordered and coordinated placement of concrete transformer vaults and utility tie in.
