Dallas, TX. AT&T Wireless Services E-911 Project

Responsible for construction management of the AT&T Wireless projects in the Dallas market ( i.e. Make-ready Site walks, GPS & LMU Antenna installations, Coax installations, Equipment installation - WLS, DSU, PDU units.) other duties also included the make-ready walk downs of the AT&T Cellular sites to acquired pertinent information for the upcoming projects, such as, the identification of existing Telco equipment, power supply units, breaker availability, and future power. My management duties were as follows, to reviewed and approved all engineering and construction designs, the preparation of RFP’s, project assignment, the tracking of permits, budget, timelines, and material acquisition. To ensure that open communication was maintained between client, property owners, property management, and OSP construction contractors in order to insure timely completion of site construction. Supervise the contractors, insuring quality and timely installations of the proposed technology and also insuring that all Bechtel and AT&T safety and construction procedures were met. To reviewed and approved all time sheets, vendor invoicing, final turnover packages submitted by the contractor. To verify that all required deliverables were submitted by general contractor on time and documentation was complete. To reviewed and approved all construction photos, sweep test, as-built drawings, and oversaw the final site inspections and site completion documentation. Gathered and assembled all deliverables for each AT&T cellular site for final submission to AT&T.

05/00 TO 04/02 PROJECT MANAGER FOR METROMEDIA FIBER NETWORK INC.

Responsible for the engineering and construction management of ISP and OSP projects in the Phoenix market.  (I.e. backbone, laterals, collocations, P.O.P’s, customer implementation and joint builds) my duties included the review and/or approve all feasibility studies, joint trench agreements, bid packages, contract awards, material ordering, OSP and ISP construction drawings, permit applications, as-built documentation, methods of construction, and splice engineering packages. Oversaw contracted A&E firms, construction contractors, and maintained constant communication governmental agencies during permitting process. Insured that all engineering and construction activities were in accordance with Metromedia engineering and construction guidelines, and met all governmental agency construction and safety requirements.

 

07/99 TO 5/00    PLANNER II FOR SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON ALHAMBRA, CA.

Responsible for the engineering and construction management of the fiber network, inclusive: route feasibility studies, cost estimates, determining the type and size of fiber cables and design the most economical type of construction i.e. overhead and/or underground. Engineered and developed construction plans, prepare cost estimate, developed BOM’s, ordered materials, and develop project schedules. The position also required the coordination of plans with governmental agencies and property owners to obtain encroachment Permits, Caltrans Permits, Railroad Licensing, Right of way and Right of Entry. I was also responsible for the reviewed and approve of the final construction plans from the engineering contract firms, I was required to inspect the different construction phases and insure compliance with the construction plans, safety rules, governmental regulations and company’s procedures, and maintained internal communications with Edison’s Real Estate/Right of Way Department, Legal Department, Carrier Solutions, Information Technology, and Construction Department

 

 

02/96 TO 07/99 OUTSIDE PLANT ENGINEER FOR ICG COMMUNICATIONS IRVINE, CA.

Responsible for the engineering and construction management of the fiber optic network facilities, inclusive, fiber optic backbone rings, laterals, collocations, and interconnects facilities using aerial and/or underground standard construction methods. Which also included, the coordination with Governmental agencies such as, Caltrans, City, state, utility companies, property management and OSP construction contractors in order to insure proper understanding of our company’s proposals. The design and engineer packages including all pertaining documents and requirements i.e. encroachment permits, request access to other utility underground systems, requisition of leased fibers from other utilities and joint pole applications etc.. Other activities included the development of primary fiber optic rings, fiber collecting rings, subscriber loops, and the administration of the fiber networks including the fiber assignments and distribution, the development of splicing configurations, preparation of cost estimates, scheduling, and ensuring stability by directing all splicing activities and proper record keeping.

Responsible for insuring that engineering specifications and inspection of CATV work orders and construction were in compliance with GTEC practices, General Order 95, and CAL-OSHA safety standards. This includes, but was not limited to providing technical assistance to the CATV companies. Reviewing planned activities and current requirements to develop action plans to meet CATV inspection and insuring technical integrity of CATV companies “ make ready “ drawings and work attached to rental poles.
