PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

 

Project Manager (Zayo Group)                                                                            December 16, 2013 to present

Responsibilities:         Single point of contact for managing applications and relationship to ILEC and / or other conduit / structure lease and joint build efforts.  Managing relationship to jurisdictions and ROW contacts such as cities, counties and railroad. Working in close relationship with underlying rights group to identify and prepare encroachment permitting, franchise agreements. Oversees timely permitting submittal and on time performance of engineering and construction vendors. Assists in the planning and implementation of fiber connectivity solutions programs and projects that adhere to approved plans, budgets and schedules.  Coordinates and facilitates with internal and external resources to effect the timely completion of projects. Designs and Implements commercial and carrier fiber networks, infrastructure, backbone and lateral builds.  Works within a Data Center environment implementing customer-installation projects and services. Creates and tracks project budgets in relationship to Network Operations.

Provides direct interface with customers, subcontractors, jurisdictional authorities and interoffice personnel. Oversees procurement of equipment and materials related to the assigned projects.  Executes Bid Process, inclusive of budgetary requirements and the tracking thereof.

Verify and update project documentation. Timely tracking of project progress and budget in Salesforce and manual tracker. Timely update of budget requests, purchase orders, project close out and internal service orders in Salesforce.

Responsibilities: Construction cost estimator for Time Warner Communications LA Metro area and Orange County area. Field service requests for fiber or coaxial cable services to commercial or multi unit dwellings. Prepare design and construction budgets to determine if proposed project is economically feasible for construction. Review incoming pole applications along with wind/pole loading data from contractors prior to being issued for construction.

Responsibilities: Landfill gas construction technician. Supervise construction of landfill gas conduit systems to extract methane gas. Coordinate materials and equipment. In training as a purchasing agent for landfill gas systems.

Responsibilities: Fielding commercial (MTU) and residential (MDU) services for Verizon’s FIOS build out in the Santa Monica / West Los Angeles project. Trained on ICGS and IDDS V8 / Micro station map and system print call-up.  Prepare complete field note package to be drafted into construction drawings.

Responsibilities: Field engineer all projects requiring either forced or voluntary relocation of aerial or underground facilities. Obtain underground substructure maps to locate existing underground utilities in project area and determine the best routing. Obtain project plans and analyze to determine any required re-routing of any aerial facilities if aerial only.  Coordinate with outside AutoCAD drafting contractor to get completed design drafted for bidding. Coordinate all outside plant bidding projects.  Assemble packages for right of way review and obtain all permits or easements that might be required.  Oversee all utility review requests for cable location activities.  Serve as the Sprint Long Distance (FON) representative on the board of the Southern California Joint Pole Committee and Statewide G.O.95/128 Rules Committee.  Coordinate JPA fielding and JPA submittals.  Sprint field inspector on various Railroad projects throughout Southern California area. I hold current safety training for the following Railroad agencies; BNSF, Union Pacific and Metro link. Responsible for disaster restorations of active facilities that are damaged by fire, vehicular traffic or damaged by construction equipment. Direct supervision of contractors on site during restoration activities as well as coordination with Sprint technicians to reestablish service to sites and systems off air.

 

Sr. Outside Plant Engineer (Fortune Contractor)April 2001 to July 3, 2003

SPRINT PCS / Network Operations, Irvine, CA

Responsibilities:  Analyze the design maps to determine where underground projects and power supply pedestals are to be required.  Obtain underground substructure maps to locate existing underground utilities in project area and determine the best routing.  Coordinate with drafting contractor to have projects drafted and ready for submission to the various governing entities within the project area. QC the product returned by the drafting contractor for accuracy and any conflicts. Coordinate with the service planners at Edison Co. and the Department of Water and Power to provide service to proposed power supply locations. Serve as the Sprint PCS representative on the board of the Southern California Joint Pole Committee and Statewide G.O.95/128 Rules Committee.

 

CONSTRUCTION COORDINATOR July 21, 1997 to April 2001

SPRINT PCS / CABLE INTEGRATION, Irvine, CA

Responsibilities: Coordinate with PCS cable TV integration design department on the location of centralized metered PCS power supplies for wireless telephone service. Contact the Edison Co. service planner or the D.W.P. service planner for the areas in question to determine if power service can be provided. Coordinate with the service planner for The Gas Company to provide natural gas service to the final power supply locations to run the stand-by generator in the event of a prolonged power outage. Obtain city and or county permits for excavation / electrical and plumbing for gas service. Issue the permitted jobs to the contractor for construction.  Complete final inspection of all jobs to make sure the contractor has performed all work to company and agency standards.

 

POWER SUPPLY COORDINATOR FOR REBUILD PROJECTNovember 1995 to July 18, 1997

TIME WARNER COMMUNICATIONS, Garden Grove CA

Responsibilities:  Coordinate with system designer on location of all new /proposed power supply locations during the rebuild project, and then go to the field to determine the best location.  Looking for power service feed point’s access to the existing cable system and aesthetics to the local area.  Taking field notes for permanent construction drawings, submitting the drawings to the Power Company and the city for approval.  Providing the approved drawing and reviewing it with the contractor for construction. Coordinating with the power company, city public works and the city electrical inspectors for sign-off after work has been completed. Verifying that the power service meter has been placed and the unit has been fully equipped so activation of the rebuilt system can happen on schedule.  Direct supervision of contractors during all phases of construction project.

Responsibilities: Field all aerial and underground, railroad, flood control, highway, city and state crossings, and get them drafted. Fill out the proper forms and submit them, along with complete follow-up and keeping up permit log. Underground construction drawings to be sent out for bidding.  MDU engineering and inspection. Make ready engineering, underground research.  Rule 20 projects, fielding/design/layout.  Coordinating with AutoCAD operator on final product.  Coordinating contractors work load for all projects.  Attend joint trench pre-bid meeting to answer questions.  Inspection and coordination with contractors in field.

Also, private right-of-ways. Put together GTE, Pacific Bell, and Southern California Edison pole applications.
