The purpose of the Mass Broadband 123 Federal and State funded telecommunication project was to bring broadband internet access to rural communities. The project started in the scope and design phase through to the final inspections before releasing to our client. The project consisted of 1200 miles of aerial and underground fiber optic cable placement which would serve over 1000 emergency operations, educational facilities, and other community anchor institutions in Western Massachusetts.  Day to day responsibilities include: 

· Responsible for full project life cycle including, design, reviewing make ready applications, construction scheduling, construction supervision, final check through a quality assurance/control ride out procedure.

· Design Work including aerial and underground fiber optic cable routes

· Acted as first line of defense for up to 28 line crews to quickly answer questions, resolve hindrances, problem solve, and redirect contractors in order to effectively meet project deliverables, deadlines, and to stay within budgetary limits  

· Supervise and provide direction to contractors performing aerial and underground construction

· Holding crews accountable to fully executing tasks according to the scope and standards of the project

· Weekly construction schedule including, contractor work locations and assigning inspectors to each location

· Inspector quality assurance/control

· Manage clerks in police detail ordering and tracking

· Verifying proper scheduling, police detail ordering, and tracking through email and verbal confirmation to assure there are no gaps in communication

· Document and create spreadsheets with daily, weekly and total production of contractors

· Pre-ride aerial routes to verify design drawings and make-ready progress

· Use Excel spreadsheets to track various progress and issues throughout the project

· Use SharePoint to retrieve/store essential documents necessary to execute tasks and project initiatives

· Use Google Earth to measure quantities and plan routes

· Assess work locations for any permitting requirements

· Attend and participate in regular safety meetings with internal and external staff

· Interface with clients

· Final quality control assurance for final turnover of project
