LFA-FTTP Senior Engineer – September 2008 to Present

Supervise the SFU/MDU/MTU-FTTP (Fiber to the Prem) project for Verizon Communications in the San Bernardino, Riverside and Los Angeles Counties. Plan, design, and quality control, feeder and distribution work orders with complete cable and conduit design and  City/County permit drawings using Auto Cad program. Job also includes posting, work print creation, task coding, narratives, pricing, contractor assignment, DOR (delayed order request), work flow, fiber to the cell site (AT&T Mobility Projects), Greenfield (preparation of scaled layout drawings for new developments), T1/DS3 customer’s request and other BAU road widening projects. Familiar with Verizon systems such as IDDS/ICGS, AAIS, V-build, IVAPP, BDMS and CCP. Design FTTP aerial networks which includes fielding, make ready and pole loading(using easy load and o calc programs). Meet with Verizon managers, engineers and planners on a regular basis regarding quality, FTTP standard updates, product launching, deliverables/schedules, billing, permit requirements and project management.

Managed the FTTP (Fiber to the Prem) project for Verizon Communications. Plan and design feeder as well as distribution network in various wire center in the Riverside and San Bernardino Areas. Job includes quality control check on all completed work orders, conduct training/lectures on FTTP standards, assign work orders to engineers and associate engineers, regular meeting with Verizon managers, supervisors and engineers, report directly to the regional manager on a daily basis regarding updates on the whole  FTTP project.

Project Engineer - June 2001 to Jan 2002 / April 2002 to July 2002

Worked on-premise with Pacific Bell as a contractor engineer for the PRONTO Project in the South Bay Area. Performed, monitored, and reviewed planning and scheduling/cost engineering functions. Engineered various wire center locations placing Remote Terminal such as CEV, CEC, Lite-span and upgrades cross-connect cabinets. Job includes civil work conduit layout design, cable design, pole lines and city/county encroachment permit acquisition using Autocad 1998.

Managed the engineering design of underground broadband network projects for RCN Telecom Services in various locations in the Bay Area. Also managed the preparation of detailed underground engineering network design for Bechtel Telecommunications under Metromedia Fiber Network project for the San Francisco and Los Angeles loop areas. Job also includes preparation of permit drawings, coordination with various public utility companies, City/County Public Works & Engineering Department, and property owners. Prepares and analyzes comparisons of scope, quantities and cost data between projects. Develops bid evaluation cost and schedule criteria and prepares bid evaluations.

Controlled and managed the preparation of the ultimate Outside Plant Engineering Design, aerial and underground network (Demand Forecast, Fundamental and Detailed Design) to meet the telephone expansion of Globe Telecom in Batangas area taking into consideration the existing guidelines and planning standards of AT&T/Lucent/Bechtel and being the primary function to develop, plan and design aerial, buried and underground fiber and copper cable network which will enable Globe Telecom to give service to potential subscribers, as identified during the planned life of the network, with a minimum additional expenditure.

Responsible in the planning and engineering of several outside plant telephone network projects, as part of the company’s telephone expansion program.

Responsible in conducting thorough planning studies on areas to be served, performing specific phases of the job to provide these areas with cross-connect networks, i.e. cross-connect telephone cabinets, primary and secondary facilities, manholes and conduits, etc. Further duties includes analysis, design, forecast, calculation of the major items to ensure that the highest engineering requirements, standards and design are met; transmission and signaling limits, cabinet boundaries, sizing of primary and secondary cables, feeder cable routes, future growth requirements to cover a 25 year period, planned timing of primary and secondary cable relief, pressurization requirements of primary cable, duct sizing requirements for present as well as planned future facilities.
