·   Led backend automation and regression testing for MARS product. Led Bangalore regression team to automate new test cases, execute existing automated test cases, analyze test results and troubleshoot the failures. Additionally, set up and improve the regression testing at San Jose site.

•   Designed and implemented software version control strategy for QA team. Setup new ClearCase VOB for the multi-site (San Jose, Bangalore, Austin) environment and implemented the auto-merge between different branches.

 

Regression Test Engineer, Gigabit Switch Business Unit (GSBU)   (Nov. 2003 -- Oct. 2007)

Worked on Catalyst4500 product. This is a mid-range modular switching platform based on Cisco IOS. It offers multilayer switching for enterprises, small-to medium-sized businesses, and service providers.

·   Improved software regression test framework. Created/Built regression test beds for software team. Ordered test equipments and configured all equipments (routers, switches, IXIA, etc) based on the topologies. Developed scripts to automatically run regression for nightly builds. Improved the regression scripts, diagnosed testbed issues, test scripts and Ixia problems. Coordinated with development, IXIA tech support and QA teams to resolve the regression failures.

·   Automated test cases for QoS feature on Catalyst4500 switches. Test scripts were written in Tcl and based on Cisco ATS framework.

·   Managed more than ten major releases for Cisco IOS based software development. Developed and maintained nightly build scripts. Analyzed nightly builds and regression results on various development branches and coordinated the development team and QA team to resolve problems; also managed software branching and merging.

 

   Software Engineer, Optical Transport Business Unit (OTBU)         (Mar. 1999 -- Nov. 2003)

   Worked on Cerent 454 (Cisco 15454) platform, a SONET Multiservice Transport Platform provides the functions of multiple

   network elements in a single platform. The implementation was done in C on VxWorks real-time operating system.

·   Designed, implemented and tested new alarm agents on all the optical cards (OC3, OC12, OC48 and OC192) and electrical cards (E1 and E3) for Cisco 15454. The alarm tasks were responsible for accumulating equipment, line and path defects. It also generates failure and report alarms for system.

·   Designed unit test plan for the Alarm Agents on all line cards.

·   Improved/Maintained Provisioning Agent and Performance Monitor (PM) agent for all electrical cards.

Worked in software team that developed C3303 product. The implementation was done in C on Cisco IOS.

·   Added features and fixed bugs for Chassis Manager task and maintained code for Event Manager task.

·   Migrated source code management system from CVS to ClearCase for software development team and managed

Software Engineer, iDEN wireless system division

Worked on Mobile Data Gateway (MDG) which provides Internet access functionality for iDEN wireless system.

MDG consists of a data process board, a data I/O board, and three ECP boards running on a pSOS real-time operating system

and written in C.

·   Implemented and maintained Layer 3 and Layer 2 protocols within MDG. The Layer 3 protocol (LINK protocol) was responsible for creation and maintenance of reliable communication links between MDG and other network and unreliable control messages. Implementation of the protocol was done via Frame Relay and LAPD.

·   Designed, implemented, and tested the Command Line Interface (CLI). This feature is used to detect and capture system errors after release to the field.
