Network Engineer

Provide full lifecycle enterprise-wide support in CONUS locations for installation, tuning, testing, monitoring, upgrading, patching, break/fix, and management of all USSOCOM WAN, MAN, CAN, LAN, and VPN infrastructure environments, including all network hardware, software, and circuits that interconnect two or more separate USSOCOM facilities. Support all garrison locations generating/receiving NIPR, SIPR, and/or JWICS Government-sponsored SCAMPI WAN communication and network infrastructure services. I was responsible for managing and configuring assorted DISA DISN-TE telecommunications equipment including; iDirect modems, switches and routers, Cisco Call Managers, voice switches, KG equipment, frequency converters at DOD Gateways located and various sites around the world. Developed network diagrams and cut sheets. Performed system operator’s maintenance. Provided global support and communications for US Armed Forces deployed and local in training and real world missions. Created modem configuration files, switch and router configuration files, and voice equipment configurations. Responsible for remotely accessing and de-accessing users into the IP/SATCOM networks and assist users with troubleshooting SATCOM and IP network problems. Was the Lead DSTE/Instructor for the common core portion of the 25S Satellite Communications Operator/ Maintainer training course for the US Army and Navy. Assistant instructed in MIDAS, Promina, SMU and Systems classes. Assisted in setup of training labs for students to get hands on training time with the systems. Was responsible for the maintenance of the school computer systems, MIDAS, Promina, SMU software and hardware installation, and the Cisco router lab networking. Was responsible for creating images using Norton Ghost for out student and instructor computers. Closely assisted in the design, programming and curriculum for the Cisco router lab.

US Army, Fort Gordon GA2007–2009

SATCOM Operator/Maintainer

I was the primary Operator/Maintainer for both the TROJAN SPIRIT and JMICS systems for my team. Transported TROJAN SPIRIT and JMICS to and from field exercises while in the field setup and operated these systems for deployment preparation. Maintained TROJAN SPIRIT on a daily basis, conducted troubleshooting using knowledge of the system as well as communication with TNCC and TNOC. Transported TROJAN SPIRIT and COMSEC to Kuwait for its first field functionality test where it was a success. Supervised and trained 10 personnel on Fort Gordon and in Kuwait on how to operate and maintain the TROJAN SPIRIT system.
