The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is the executive office of the UK Statistics Authority, a non-ministerial department which reports directly to the Kingdom. It is charged with the collection and publication of statistics related to the economy, population and society of England and Wales at national, regional and local levels.

The Collected information will be stored into a third party system and will be generated as a XML format which will act like a source to populate an Oracle database. ONS generates a format of SDMX - XML which are generated through third party tool CODP.A Business Intelligence Open source ETL tool called TALEND of version 5.0.1 which is java based tool and this tool picks any type of database as source like SQL Server, Oracle, and ERP etc. and also picks any type of file as source file like CSV, XLS, and XML etc.  Files as input and processes it for further use in different applications/Database.

In this Assignment Talend is used to extract data from the XML to the Oracle Environment called as IMPORT and from IMPORT data will be transformed and dumped into another Oracle environment called STAGING and finally from STAGING data will be loaded into the final Oracle environment called as TARGET.

On top of the TARGET environment Liferay Portal is deployed and some additional data being fed into TARGET using Liferay Screens. Finally TARGET Data will be deployed and shared as dashboards, scorecards, charts and reports in QlikView.

These Agents contact customers & submit proposals. On acceptance of a proposal by the customer, the proposal is converted into a policy. The customer on receipt of a policy pays Premium to the Insurance Company as per the policy terms. The Agent in turn gets commission out of these premiums. Company analyses the Agent performance vide No. of Customers, No of Policies, No of Proposals, Premiums etc. The various reports constitute this analysis. Maybank is an ERP product developed for Insurance Company. This product has various modules, we are asked to handle 3 modules which are CMS i.e. Channel Management System, Finance, Claims

For all the above 3 modules we have generated data marts and reports. On basis of reports study, we have created the data marts from which the reports are generated.

For populating data in Data mart we had to do ETL i.e., Extract, Transform, Load using SSIS.

Once the Data mart is populated, the reports are connected to this Data mart by Creating SSAS OLAP Cubes and Stored procedures.
