The overall objective of the project was to run Convatec on SAP. In order to integrate SAP with the legacy systems of the company and its trading partners Convatec used IBM Websphere as Middleware. I was responsible for architecting, designing and developing the EDI infrastructure for Convatec using WTX, WMB, WPG, MQ Series and custom AIX scripts.

As a Sr. EDI Analyst, I was responsible for building the EDI Integration Framework for Convatec using WTX, WPG and WMB. I architected and implemented the entire EDI solution with my team. I was leading the EDI Team and was responsible for grooming juniors and other resources in EDI & WTX. I was also responsible to design the EDI FS by working with the SAP functional counterparts. I worked as a reviewer of EDI WTX Maps also.

During my tenure in USA( 20^th April to 30^th October), I was responsible for establishing the connectivity with the EDI & Non-EDI trading partners using Websphere Partner Gateway, which was our primary communication tool in Convatec. I was also responsible for advising map design and mentored my team on all WTX mapping issues. I was responsible for communicating with all the customers, understating their communicating capabilities and help them to get connected with the new Convatec EDI/SAP system using a diverse set of protocols, viz. FTP, SFTP, HTTPS, AS2 etc. I also interacted with GXS in order to

onboard the customers into the Convatec network via GXS trading grid.

Description:

EDI is a technology used in the commerce industry to exchange commercial data between trading partners. X12, EDIFACT and KEDIFACT are the two most widely used standards for this data. BW 3.1.7 has the capability to support EDIFACT and KEDIFACT as add-on components, but the EDI Module 4.1. which was so far being used for the BW4.2.1, did not have the capability to validate EDIFACT or KEDIFACT content. Hence a new EDI Module 4.2 is being developed. Our role is to ensure proper Unit and QA Testing of the Module.
