Client: Product (Work Location – Charleston, WV, USA)

Role: BI Developer

Description: Rx Data Track is to monitor the sales of compound drugs sold by the various pharmacies. Designed as a product which can be deployed in any state in US and follows the ASAP 4.2 guidelines. System has the capability to alert various enforcement agencies about the drug’s misuse as Reports. Application is in Phase 1 to use Talend as the ETL Platform and Tableau for various reporting need reporting needs. Talend and Tableau interacts with SQL Server 2012.

 

Responsibilities:

- ETL Loaders build on Talend access various metadata such as XML, Flat Files (with various formats) and SQL  Databases.

- Customization of workflow using tJava & tJavaRow using components.

- Design and Development of Rich Graphic content using Tableau. Created formatted graphical, cross-tab, conditional, drill-down, top n, summary, sub reports, parameterized reports, interactive reports & custom reports.

Description: WFS was a project initiated by Wells Fargo to capture the key customer information as part of the regularization process. It involved-

The Audit and Governance tool was designed to monitor changes to selected/ interested fields in the database. The application was built on ASP.NET with AJAX Controls and JScript.

Description: Insight is a tool developed for the automation of ETL Package creation and execution. Insight is targeted for Business Analysts (BA). BA uses insight to create simple actions such as (SELECT, JOIN, and AGGREGATE) and these actions are converted into SSIS ETL package. Automatic creation of SSIS package is obtained by using SSIS Design Time Library. Insight hides the complexities of building the SSIS package from the Business Analyst. Insight will be released as open source to user communities.

1. Project: Green Field (Online Trading)              Nov’07 to Mar’09

Client: Charles Schwab, USA

Role: Technical Architect/ Onsite Coordinator (Work Location: USA, SFO)

Description: Green Field is the migration of Charles Schwab Core Trading Platform from Java to Microsoft.NET Technologies. Initial phase of the project was focused only on converting the user interface from Java to .NET WebForms. .NET pages interacted with coarse gained Web Service via WCF. Green Field migration consists of 60 ASP.NET applications. Web Services ran on WebSphere and data stored in Mainframe. TFS is used for version/ Life Cycle Management and VSTS test edition is used for performance certification and assessment.

Responsibilities:

·         Migrated technical artifacts from VSS to TFS. Installed and troubleshot test rigs (agents and controller)

·         Initiated the build and deployment of application in the test bed environment for performance certification as per the two weeks release cycle, in special cases (Team Foundation Build OR using MS Build)

·         Developed custom reports in TFS to publish performance related data. These reports are connected to the LoadTest as data source. Publishing the data as reports in TFS release based

Client: Shell (SGS), Holland (Work Location: Holland, Amsterdam)

Role: Architect/ Lead

Description: Hystar is a modeling tool (Product) developed by Shell Global Solutions (SGS) Division and the application were developed using VB.NET 2005. Hystar was built on a framework developed by SGS which functioned as a layer (also called Inter Operability (IO) Layer) for calculation and test bed preparation for the chemical assessment of the refineries. UI uses the inter operability layer for data processing and presentation. Serious performance related problems were observed while processing the real/ close to production data.

Responsibilities:

·         Understood the application (code review) and Hystar model design pattern

·         Prepared a road map/ approach for performance improvement (process)

·         Implemented the changes and win customer confidence (development and fixes)

·         Documented the work process to be followed in the future (sign-off)

 

3. Project: Venus Refractory              Jan’07 to Sep’07

Client: State Street, France (Work Location: France, Paris)

Role: Architect/Lead

Description: Venus Refractory project focused on migration of single user Microsoft applications such as Visual Basic 6.0/ 5.0, MS Excel, VBA, and Access Applications to.NET-based SOA. A total of around 90 applications were identified as in-scope for the migration. Customer did not hold any sufficient documentation about the applications. Hence AS-IS migration approach was identified. A SOA-based .NET Framework developed by State Street was used to deploy the .NET Web Services. Initial task was to identify and separate the user interface/ related events and business rules which were implemented in the methods from Microsoft applications. Methods used in Microsoft applications were converted to .NET Web Services. Microsoft Window screens were converted to ASP.NET Pages and invoked Web Services. Migration of VB Methods to ASP.NET Web Services was line by line migration.

 

4. Project: Pipe RBA              Mar’06 to Jan’07

Client: Shell, Holland (Work Location: Holland, The Hauge)

Role: Architect

Description: Pipe RBA is a product developed by SGS division of Shell for assessing the life of pipelines from corrosion and other natural calamities. Pipe RBA is a thick client application developed in VB 6.0 and database as MS Access 2000. The project was to migrate the application from VB 6.0 to VB.NET.

Responsibilities:

·         Conducted a due-diligence exercise for the migration assessment

·         Recommended approach of AS-IS migration (tool based) as Pipe RBA applications used complex calculation for assessment and the customer was not willing to share the design details about the product stating aspects of confidentiality

·         Assessed the migration tool in Visual Studio 2005 which was used for migration

·         Application was designed in a three tier architecture separating the business and data layers from UI (which was not how it was implemented in VB 6.0) without changing any of the core functionalities

·         Converted/ migrated data from MS Access to SQL Server 2000

·         Performance bench marking was performed during the start up of the project to assess the performance of the applications in identified/ key activities

·         Developed custom graphs control during the migration, since the graphs were created using pictures box, lines, and curve objects in VB 6.0

Description: The System ONE application aims to facilitate planning and economic data management for projects of EP, GP, and SEE Business Groups of Shell. It is interfaced with Livelink, GP website, and EP portal. The application uses XL and PowerPoint templates to load data into the system and for preparing reports. This application was developed in VB.NET, ASP.NET, and MS SQL Server 2000.

 

6. Project: Rate Track              Sep’04 to Mar’05

Description: Web-based freight management software to capture the freight rates for Logistics Service Providers (LSP). Application needed to be migrated from ASP to ASP.NET with some additional features.

Description: Migration of customized reports from MicroStrategy 7.2.1 to 7.5.1. MicroStrategy 7.5.1 report pages are built on .NET Framework, where as the actual implementation in terms of business rules were in Java. The report pages were developed using ASP.NET and used Java Beans as the data provider from MSTR.

Description: Versa XS, a product developed for programming access control devices. Application was designed to communicate with the hardware access control device using RS 232/ Modem. Versa XS was designed as a web-based application with provisions to extend the features to multi-language support. Versa XS was designed in layered architecture.
