Global Hardware and Software Asset Management (GHSAM) provides the tools for managing Citi Technology Infrastructure Hardware and Software assets globally through manual and automated discovery methods. GHSAM provides users with complete information on Technology Assets. These assets include Blackberries, Desktops (including Virtual), Mainframe, Servers (including Virtual), Storage and Video. GHSAM offers management a comprehensive source that tracks assets from procurement through retirement. GHSAM reporting features facilitate optimization efforts and ensure efficient redeployment of assets.

This project strives to deliver a global standardized IT asset management solution along with reporting through data warehouse. Citi technology users access Asset Manager Application globally to view and report on a variety of operations and inventory of IT asset in a centralized place and in a consistent way. It involves processing of numerous feeds from various Citi systems to add/update the data about assets throughout its life cycle. Also, there are jobs that process the asset data to provide routine transaction processing. There are some jobs that populate the source system data into the reporting schema to enable reporting through Business Objects. My area of responsibility includes:

New York Life Investments ranks among the largest asset management firms in the United States. It delivers investment performance through an array of products designed for both institutional and retail clients. It provides investment management services to institutional clients; serves individual and institutional shareholders through Main Stay Investments; offers retirement plans for corporations, multi-employer trusts, and individuals; delivers guaranteed products to both the qualified and non-qualified markets.

This project fulfills the specific reporting requirements of its Guaranteed Products division. The reporting capability is migrated from mainframe based RAMIS tool to Oracle and Business Objects. It is related to the information about contracts, funds, transactions, adjustments, periodic balances, journal entries, and various types of reserves related items about the current and future payments for these contracts. Dimensions like date, month, code, product, fund, contract, account, division, company are involved with this data. There are more than 70 reports that are based on the different types of contracts to show the transaction, balance, interest, reserve and other key information for specific period or to compare it for different periods.

I have individually worked on this at Client site and my responsibility covered the following items:

To fulfill the strategic and operational reporting requirements I have implemented following reporting modules:

Operations Reporting – BASYS: It is related to the information about the Automobile insurance cards, their policies and the invoice related data along with the various dimensions such as client, carrier, employee, organization, product and time.

Operations Reporting – Siebel and Wincert: It is related to the information about the Siebel cases, activities against those cases, cards issued, case life cycle audit related data along with the various dimensions such as client, channel, colleague, organization, product and time.

Conflict Checking System Reporting: It is related to the information about clients, engagements, services, engagements issue check run. Reports are created to give details about disclosures in accordance with regulatory requirements, issues/conflicts between various engagements, engagements having open issues, various metrics related to check runs.

Client Survey Reporting: It is related to the Marsh surveys for its clients conducted by third party across different geographic regions. It provides information about Client, Company, Client Executive, Survey schedule, Survey questions and their responses, Issue/Opportunity. Reports are specific to geography at different levels and gives details about the survey statistics. It has a very complex data security implementation.

Surplus Lines Reporting: It is related to the Marsh’s OTP (Online Tax Payable) system catering to the data of Surplus Lines insurance related cases. Various activities are recorded against each such case and its progress and payments are tracked. It provides information about Case, Case Activities, Time spent by Colleague on case. Reports are designed to gives details about the due cases to initiate activities, to track their progress, any issues with the cases, history of activities against a case, tax/fees collected and colleague productivity. It has a complex data transformation and reporting implementation. Universe is designed using Core and Derived universe approach.

ORCA is developed to provide the functionality of computing the commission that needs to be paid each month for large number of partners who sell BT products on behalf of BT Retail – Indirect Channel. For this, it stores all the data related to Partners, Resellers, Products, Orders, Invoices and the corresponding revenue and processes this data to compute and store commission to be paid. It has got 2 interfaces; web front end and feeds to facilitate loading of data into the system. Data comes from number of sources. Various types of reports are available to track the performance of the channel and these have been developed using sql, pl/sql and business objects.

As a Team Leader I was responsible for the following:

Role: I have individually worked on this project for requirement analysis, system and database study, documentation, BO universe design and development, BO report design and development, unit/integration testing and training of BO for the developers & final users.

Project: CCAT (Customer Channel Allocation Tool)

CCAT is developed as a central reference database that receives input feed files from various systems and processes this data to build relationships between them and provide required output feed files to other systems.

It has 3 interfaces: A Visual Basic application for managing day-to-day business transactions; pl/sql batch jobs to receive, process and provide bulk data input/output as per the schedule and, CCAT: WEB – A read only intranet based application to display information as per various search criteria.

Role: My role was as a Team Member to interact with the client about system/change requirements, analyze the requirements, assist in system design, database design (Table, Index, View, Package, Procedure, Function) & Ab Initio development work and testing.

In addition to this also carried out some development work to convert pl/sql batch jobs into Ab Initio (an ETL tool) programs.
