COMET- Customer Order Management Enterprise Transformation

 

COMET project for Home Depot involves consolidation of online order management and call center systems to provide a platform for an interconnected retail environment that can scale up for expected growth in the coming years. Past 8 years’ worth of Completed Orders are being migrated from JDA/Red Prairie/Escalate Order Management System (OMS) to Sterling OMS. The first six years data will be archived to an in-house database. The last two years of data would be migrated to the Sterling OLTP (Online Transaction Processing).

 

My Role & Responsibilities: I was the Data Migration & Cutover QA lead for this project.

 

§         Develop a thorough understanding of the Source and the destination application and the various modules under it and analyzing their impact on the other systems involved in the OMS system.

·         Understand the source/destination Data Model and mapping.

·         Develop Data Migration and Cutover Test Strategy

·         Research and suggest a tool suitable for Data Validation testing.

·         Data Validation in the interim database and destination database using SQL scripts and Talend Open Studio tool.

·         Validating the XML files generated from the interim database

·         Overall in charge for the data quality from extraction, transformation to the load phase.

My Role & Responsibilities: I was a QA team member working on different efforts within Nexure project. I also worked as the Lead/point of contact for the Reports module.

 

·         Develop a thorough understanding of the Nexsure application and the various modules under it.

·         Attend BRD’s, FSD’s, TDD’s reviews for different projects and provide timely feedback.

·         Design test plans, use case documents for different projects.

Investigation Portal & LOIS (Global Performance Engineering)

 

          GPE is a project that enables technical performance testing on a globally distributed basis, of all AOL Web properties. GPE provide web performance testing using globally distributed network of 6 locations in 5 countries. Performance testing is based on Pagetest, which accurately simulates and measures an authentic web browser user experience of your product. The OASIS Investigation Portal is a resource used for measuring and analyzing the performance of AOL web pages. The performance of the competitors’ web pages, including Google, MSN, and Yahoo can also be tested.

 

My Role & Responsibilities: I was the QA Lead for the GPE project from delivery point of view.

·         Followed agile scrum process while working on IP and LOIS projects.

·         Actively attend daily scrum meetings, sprint plan, sprint review and sprint retrospective meetings.

·         Analyze the root cause of the issues created through the sprint retrospective meetings, which helped to improve for the next sprint.

It provides essential call center functions, including global routing and queuing; call data processing; normalized real-time and historical reporting; supervision of agent availability, agent-level call distribution, monitoring; agent state-transition and call disposition; supervisor barge-in; conferencing and transfers; and call recording.

This project involved migration of Seratel Call Centre Solution- Reports backend database from MYSQL to Oracle.

 

My Role & Responsibilities: As a team member I was involved in the following activities.

·         Review the Requirement Specifications/ High and Low level design documents and understand the Business requirements for the migration.

·         Understand the data model for the source/destination systems.

·         Review the mapping document which plays a crucial role in a data movement.

·         Analyze the source and destination impacted application

·         Give timely feedback on the discrepancies/loopholes identified during the review of the documents (SRS/HLD/LLD/Mapping documents).

·         Develop Test Strategy and Test Plan documents and write test cases for backend and the functional testing that needs to be carried out.

The goal of the project is to port the BlackBerry plug-in applications to Pocket PC.

Inserting Discs into the Disc Stakkas or units, providing a name, ejecting the required disc, searching for a particular disc, generating reports based on Disc history, Overdue discs etc., are some of the features of this application. This is a dock application, which will be running all the time. It creates a database of all the units connected and the discs in the units
